Laila Shereen Sakr (born 1971), known by her moniker, VJ Um Amel, is an Egyptian–American digital media theorist and artist. She is the founder of the digital lab, R-Shief, Inc., an Annenberg Fellow, and Assistant Professor of Media Theory & Practice at University of California, Santa Barbara, where she founded the Wireframe digital media studio. Okab Sakr or Oakab Saker ( ar, عقاب صقر; born 4 March 1975) is a Lebanese journalist and politician who lost his father before he was born during the beginning of the Lebanese civil war. Étienne Saqr ( ar, إتيان صقر; born on 26 December 1937; last name also spelt Sakr), also known by his kunya "''Abu Arz''” (), is a Lebanese nationalist leader and founder of the Guardians of the Cedars militia and political party (, ''Ḥurrās al-ʿArz'' in Arabic). Saqr and his militia participated in the Lebanese Civil War in the 1970s and 1980s, and remained militantly active until he was expelled from the country with the flight of the South Lebanon Army, of which he was not a member, in May 2000. A member of the Vanguards of Conquest, Ihab Abdallah Saqr ( ar, إيهاب صقر, alternatively ''Ihab Muhammad Saqr'') was believed to have coordinated the bombing of the Egyptian embassy in Islamabad and was a high-priority target for the CIA when he was captured in Baku, Azerbaijan. He was one of 14 people subjected to extraordinary rendition by the CIA prior to the 2001 declaration of a War on Terror.
