Sajjad Akbar (born 1 March 1961) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played two One Day Internationals in 1990. A middle-order batsman and off-spin bowler, he played first-class cricket in Pakistan from 1978–79 to 2000–01. In the 1989–90 season he took 104 wickets at an average of 22.38. A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams.
