Saint-Régis-du-Coin () is a commune in the Loire department in central France. Geography This town of the Loire, which is part of the Pilat Regional Nature Park is located 21 km from Saint-Etienne. His village is situated 1071 m above sea level, so it's a mid-mountain terrain that characterizes the town. Climate Because of its location in the uplands, the climate of the St. Regis-du-Coin is harsh in winter (cold and snow) but mild in summer. History The town is recent, it dates only from 1858. Its territory was created from plots taken at the town of Marlhes and Saint-Sauveur-en-Rue. Its name comes from a locality called "The Corner" located on this time, near the present town. Saint-Sauveur-en-Rue () is a commune in the Loire department in central France. Geography Saint-Sauveur-en-Rue is located south of the Parc Naturel Régional du Pilat. It is the southernmost town of the ''département'' of the Loire. Saint Sauveur is located from the Haute-Loire ''département'', and from the Ardèche. The village is situated at the foot of Mont Pyfarat, culminating at 1381m above sea level, and is located on the outskirts of the forest of Taillard. Jean-François Régis, SJ, commonly known as Saint John Francis Regis and Saint Regis (31 January 1597 – 31 December 1640), was a French priest of the Society of Jesus, recognized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1737. A tireless preacher, Regis is best known for his work with at-risk women and orphans.
