Sainte-Marcelline-de-Kildare is a municipality in the Lanaudière region of Quebec, Canada, part of the Matawinie Regional County Municipality. Etymology The name Sainte-Marcelline-de-Kildare honors Saint Marcellina, a catholic saint who lived in the 4th century. She was chosen because she was the elder sister of Ambrose, another saint which the neighboring municipality of Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare was named after. Since the municipality of Sainte-Marcelline-de-Kildare was created from territories of Saint=Ambroise-de-Kildare, it made sense to name the municipality after her. The name Kildare honors the town of Kildare in Ireland, a town from which most of the first settlers of the municipality came from. History In 1736, Lord Jean d'Ailleboust d'Argenteuil receives a lordship that will bear his name. Joliette, Quebec
Joliette is a city in southwest Quebec, Canada. It is approximately northeast of Montreal, on the L'Assomption River and is the seat of the Regional County Municipality of Joliette. It is considered to be a part of the North Shore of Greater Montreal. The city is home to the Joliette Art Museum, whose works of art include paintings, sculptures, paper artwork and a large collection of art from the French Middle Ages. Joliette has 3 Francophone high schools and 1 Anglophone high school, as well as the Joliette campus of the Cégep régional de Lanaudière. The Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board (SWLSB, french: Commission scolaire Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier, CSSWL) is a school board headquartered in Rosemère, Quebec in Greater Montreal.
