Sahib Abbas
Sahib Abbas Hassan ( ar, صاحب عباس حسين; born 3 November 1969) is an Iraqi former professional footballer who played as a striker. He represented Iraq at the 1996 Asian Cup, and also played for various clubs in Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, and Syria. The player's tally of 177 goals in the Iraqi Premier League is an all-time record. Club career Sahib Abbas was considered one of the best Iraqi strikers of his generation. After beginning his career at Karbalaa, Abbas moved to Salahaddin in 1991, playing as the main-choice striker. In 1993 he moved to Al-Zawraa—where he made his name—helping the club, featuring the likes Hussam Fawzi and Essam Hamad, to two consecutive league and cup doubles in 1995 and 1996. In 1998, he joined top Lebanese club Al-Nejmeh, playing there for a season without hitting the headlines. Karbala

The 1996 AFC Asian Cup was the 11th edition of the men's AFC Asian Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The finals were held in the United Arab Emirates between 4 and 21 December 1996. Saudi Arabia defeated hosts United Arab Emirates in the final match in Abu Dhabi. The name of the league was changed from ''Iraqi National Clubs First Division'' to ''Iraqi Advanced Clubs League''. The league title was won by Al-Zawraa for the third consecutive time. The 1994–95 Iraqi National Clubs First Division was the 21st season of the competition since its foundation in 1974. The league title was won by Al-Zawraa for the second time in a row, and they also won the Iraq FA Cup for the third consecutive time. Half of the league's competing teams were relegated in order to result in a 12-team league for the next campaign. 1993–94 Iraqi National League
The 1993–94 Iraqi National Clubs First Division was the 20th season of the competition since its foundation in 1974. The league title was won by Al-Zawraa for the fifth time in their history, and they also won the Iraq FA Cup to secure the double. The top scorer, Younis Abid Ali, set a record for the most goals scored in one Iraqi Premier League season (36) which still stands today. Al-Zawraa lost only one match out of 50, and were unbeaten for their last 38 matches consecutively. They went one more game unbeaten at the start of the 1994–95 season, completing a record 39-match unbeaten streak in the league; this record was equalled by Al-Shorta in 2019. Salam Zgharta Football Club ( ar, نادي السلام الرياضي زغرتا, lit=Zgharta Peace Sporting Club), known as Salam Zgharta or simply Salam, is a football club based in Zgharta, Lebanon, that competes in the .
