Sahebganj District
Sahibganj district is one of the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand state, India, and Sahibganj is the administrative headquarters of this district. Divisions Sahibganj district is divided into two subdivions: Sahibganj subdivision and Rajmahal subdivision. It is further subdivided into nine Community development blocks:(Sahibganj subdivision) Sahibganj, Mandro, Borio, Barhait (Rajmahal subdivision) Taljhari, Rajmahal, Udhwa, Pathna and Barharwa. Economy In 2006 the Ministry of Panchayati Raj named Sahibganj one of the country's 250 most backward districts (out of a total of 640). It is one of the 24 districts in Jharkhand currently receiving funds from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme (BRGF). Demographics According to the 2011 census Sahibganj district has a population of 1,150,567, roughly equal to the nation of Timor-Leste or the US state of Rhode Island. Mandro is a community development block that forms an administrative division in the Sahibganj subdivision of the Sahibganj district, Jharkhand state, India. Geography Mandro, the eponymous CD block headquarters, is located at . It is located 18 km from Sahibganj, the district headquarters. Sarna Sthal
Sarna is a place of worship in Chotanagpur region of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. It is a sacred grove, where people of village gather to perform rituals in village festival. Ritual Sarna is scared groove consist of Sal tree called ''Sarai'' in Chotanagpur. It is remaintant of forest patch in the village, where spirit reside. Poverty In India
India is a developing nation. Although its economy is growing, poverty is still a major challenge. However, poverty is on the decline in India. According to an International Monetary Fund paper, extreme poverty, defined by the World Bank as living on US$1.9 or less in purchasing power parity (PPP) terms, in India was as low as 0.8% in 2019 and the country managed to keep it at that level in 2020 despite the unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak. According to World Bank, extreme poverty has reduced by 12.3% between 2011 and 2019 from 22.5% in 2011 to 10.2% in 2019. A working paper of the bank said rural poverty declined from 26.3% in 2011 to 11.6% in 2019.
