Hikaru Saeki
is the first female admiral of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and the first female in the entire Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) to achieve star rank. Originally an obstetrician-gynecologist with the degree of M.D., Saeki joined the JMSDF in 1989. After her service in several military hospitals and medical rooms aboard naval vessels, she became the first woman to head a JSDF hospital in 1997, promoted to rear admiral in 2001, and retired in 2003. Career A native to the Japanese prefecture of Gunma, Hikaru Saeki was born in 1943. Hinako Saeki
is a Japanese actress who was born on February 16, 1977 in Nara, Japan. Probably her best-known role was as Sadako Yamamura in '' Rasen'', the 1998 sequel to the horror film ''Ring''. Kazumi Saeki
is a Japanese novelist from Sendai in Miyagi prefecture. Kazumi (meaning one wheat) is his pen name, adopted because of his fondness for Van Gogh's paintings of wheat fields. His experiences in the 2011 Great Tohoku Kanto earthquake were recounted in an op-ed piece in the New York Times under the title, "In Japan, No Time Yet for Grief" translated by Seiji M. Lippit. After graduating from high school he moved to Tokyo and worked various jobs including in magazines and as an electrician for 10 years. (born 18 March 1976) is a retired Japanese tennis player, winner of professional tournaments in doubles and singles, and a representative of Japan for the Federation Cup. Yuzo Saeki
was a Japanese painter, noted for his work in developing modernism and Fauvist Expressionism within the ''yōga'' (Western-style) art movement in early twentieth-century Japanese painting. Biography Saeki was born in Osaka as the son of a Buddhist priest. He was interested in art from an early age, and imitated the Impressionist style Kuroda Seiki while learning art in middle school. He moved to Koishikawa (now part of Bunkyō in Tokyo) in 1917 to study art under Takeji Fujishima and enrolled in the western art department of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts in 1918. He married fellow painter Yoneko Ikeda in 1921. In the summer of 1924, Saeki moved to France with his wife and daughter.
