Saeed Ahmed (cricketer, Born 1937)
Saeed Ahmed ( ur, ; born 1 October 1937) is a Pakistani preacher and former cricketer who is the member of Tablighi Jamaat after retirement. He played in 41 Test matches between 1958 and 1972. He was born in 1937 at Jalandhar in what was then British Punjab, part of British India and educated at Government Islamia College in Lahore. He played as a right-handed middle order batsman with a powerful drive and bowled off-breaks. He is the brother of another cricketer Younis Ahmed. Saeed made his Test début on 17 January 1958 against the West Indies at Bridgetown. He made 65 in the second innings, at one stage partnering with Hanif Mohammad who went on to make 337. Saeed finished the series with 508 runs. He went on to captain his side in three drawn Tests in 1968–69 but his career ended in controversial circumstances when he declared himself unfit for the third Test against Australia in 1972 due to what he claimed was a back injury. Saeed Ahmad Akhtar was an Urdu poet, playwright and educationist. He published his first Urdu poetry collection ''Diyaar e Shab'' in 1976. The book got several awards including the Abbasin Arts Council Award for the best book of the year. He published 12 Urdu poetry collections and one English poetry collection so far. He also wrote many plays and documentaries for Pakistan television and Radio Pakistan. He was born on 3 March 1933 in Pishin, Pakistan. He completed his masters in English Literature from Peshawar University in 1958 and then masters in Urdu Literature from the same university in 1965. Saeed Ahmad Palanpuri
Saeed Ahmad Palanpuri (also written as Saʻīd Aḥmad Pālanpūrī) (1940 – 19 May 2020), was an Indian Sunni Muslim scholar and author who served as Shaykh al-Hadith and Principal of Darul Uloom Deoband. A number of his books are required readings in Darul Uloom Deoband. Biography Palanpuri was born in 1940 in Kaleda village, Vadgam then in the Palanpur State. He studied at the Mazahir Uloom and then attended the Darul Uloom Deoband, where he graduated in traditional dars-e-nizami studies. Palanpuri joined Jamia Ashrafiya in Rander as a teacher in 1965 and taught there for about ten years. He was appointed as a teacher of Darul Uloom Deoband in 1973 at the recommendation of Manzur Nu'mani. In 2008, he succeeded Naseer Ahmad Khan as Shaykh al-Hadith and also served as Principal.
