''Sad Satan'' is a PC game first reported on the YouTube channel ''Obscure Horror Corner'' on June 25, 2015. Following initial reviews, the channel's video of the game was picked up by a number of English-language publications and, later, internationally. The creator of the game was allegedly a man from Lubbock, Texas named Gary Graves. Backmasking is a recording technique in which a message is recorded backward onto a track that is meant to be played forward. It is a deliberate process, whereas a message found through phonetic reversal may be unintentional.
