SacAnime
SacAnime is a semi-annual three day anime convention held at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento, California. The convention is the sister conventions to the Sacramento Comic, Toy and Anime Show (Sac-Con) and Bak-Anime. Programming SacAnime typically features an animated music video contest, art contests, artists alley, card-game tournaments, console gaming, cosplay chess, costume contests, dealers room, fashion show, karaoke, maid cafe, masquerade, music performances, panels, Q&A sessions, rave, swap meet, video games, and workshops. History SacAnime began as an extension of the quarterly Sacramento Comic, Toy and Anime Show (Sac-Con). Bak-Anime
Bak-Anime is an annual two-day anime convention held at the Kern County Fairgrounds in Bakersfield, California by the staff of SacAnime. The convention is the sister conventions to the Bakersfield Comic Con, Sacramento Comic, Toy and Anime Show (Sac-Con), and SacAnime. Programming The convention typically offers an artists’ alley, card game tournaments, cosplay contest, dealer's room, and a swap meet. History The convention began due to the requests of fans from the Bakersfield Comic Con. Bak-Anime in winter 2013 moved to the Bakersfield Marriott due to growth and for the fall 2013 event expanded to two days. The expansion in the fall was considered a risk due to the increased costs of events run at that time of the year. The Slants
The Slants is an American dance rock band composed entirely of Asian Americans. The band was formed in Portland, Oregon by Simon Tam in 2006. The band went through a number of early lineup changes, but had a core lineup for its albums and tours by 2009 consisting of Aron Moxley (vocals), Simon Tam (bass, keys), Jonathan Fontanilla (guitar), and Tyler Chen (drums, backing vocals).
