Sabino Brunello
Sabino Brunello (born 27 June 1989) is an Italian chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2010. Chess career Sabino Brunello started to play chess at the age of 8. In 2002, in Bratto, he became the Italian champion in the age category Under 18. In 2007 in Martina Franca he won silver medal in the Italian Chess Championship. In 2010 in Arvier he took the silver medal in the European Union Championship. In 2014, in Durban, Brunello shared first place with Sahaj Grover in the Open Grandmasters Tournament. In 2013 Brunello competed in the FIDE World Cup, where he lost to Pavel Eljanov in the first round. 38th Chess Olympiad
The 38th Chess Olympiad (german: Die 38. Schacholympiade), organized by FIDE and comprising an open and a women's tournament, as well as several other events designed to promote the game of chess, took place from 12 to 25 November 2008 in Dresden, Germany. There were 146 teams in the open event and 111 in the women's event. In total, 1277 players were registered. Both tournament sections were officiated by international arbiter Ignatius Leong (Singapore). In a change from recent Olympiads, the number of rounds of the Swiss system were reduced from 13 to 11 with accelerated pairings. For the first time, the women's division, like the open division, was played over four boards per round, with each team allowed one alternate for a total of five players. European Team Chess Championship
The European Team Championship (often abbreviated in texts and games databases as ''ETC'') is an international team chess event, eligible for the participation of European nations whose chess federations are located in zones 1.1 to 1.9. This more or less accords with the wider definition of Europe used in other events such as the Eurovision Song Contest and includes Israel, Russia and the former Soviet States. The 41st Chess Olympiad ( no, Den 41. Sjakkolympiade), organised by the FIDE, Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) and comprising an open and women's tournament, as well as several events designed to promote the game of chess, took place in Tromsø, Norway, between 1–14 August 2014.
