Saawan
''Saawan'' ( ur, ) is a 2017 Pakistani suspense drama film directed by Farhan Alam and produced and written by Mashood Qadri under the production banner of Kalakar Films. The film is based on a true story of a disabled child, who faced difficulties in the deserts of Pakistan. The film stars Saleem Mairaj, Syed Karam Abbas, Arif Bahalim, Najiba Faiz and Imran Aslam in the lead roles. The other cast includes Tipu Sharif, Hafeez Ali, Sehrish Qadri, Sohail Malik, Shahid Niazmi, Muhammad Abbas, Danial Yunus, Mehek Zulfiqar and Syed Muhammad Ali. A special appearance is made by Lt. Gen. S. A. A. Najmi (R). It was selected as the Pakistani entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. Najiba Faiz
Najiba Faiz (Pashto: نجیبه فېض) born 1 August 1988, is an Afghan-born Pakistani television host, television and film actress, known for playing variety of notable characters in films and in television mostly in Pakistan and Afghanistan. She began her career as a child artist, and later started in television serials such as ''Sang-e-Mar Mar'' and its second triloy ''Sang-e-Mah''. Faiz is currently hosting a morning show on Hum Pashto 1. Early life and career Her father is an Afghan immigrant who migrated to Pakistan in the 1980s. She grew up mostly in Peshawar and later moved on to Karachi and Islamabad. Faiz started her career with working on a children program "Story", which aired on PTV. Pakistan submitted its first film for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film in 1959, three years after the incorporation of the category. and submit second time in 1963. This is a list of submissions to the 90th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The Foreign Language Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. The submitted motion pictures must be first released theatrically in their respective countries between 1 October 2016 and 30 September 2017. The deadline for submissions was 2 October 2017, with the Academy announcing a list of eligible films on 5 October.
