SS Cardiacs
SS Cardiacs was a Canadian indie rock band, briefly active in the early 2000s.Sarah Liss"Cardiacs Attack" ''Now'', May 26, 2005. It consisted of Jessie Stein on vocals and guitar, Andy Lloyd on bass and Dana Snell on drums. History SS Cardiacs formed in Toronto in 2004. They performed as part of Canada Music Week in March, 2005. That year the band released its sole album, ''Fear the Love'', on Blocks in 2005. Stein's brother, José Miguel Contreras of By Divine Right, also participated in the album's recording. ''Fear the Love'' appeared on the !earshot campus and community radio chart in June. Shortly after the album's release, Lloyd and Snell left the band due to internal tensions, and Stein instead toured to support the album with a lineup that included Leon Taheny, The Meligrove Band's Mike Small and keyboardist Owen Pallett. With a more robust sound, the group released one last track entitled "Oh No!" via the ''Volume II'' 7" vinyl compilation on Out Of Touch Records. Miracle Fortress is a Canadian indie rock band based in Montreal, Quebec. The band's studio work is primarily a solo, project of songwriter Graham Van Pelt, who is accompanied by the rest of the band during live shows. Band history Van Pelt, a member of the band Think About Life, recorded all of the music himself for five songs, and then self-released an EP, '' Watery Grave''. The Meligrove Band is a Canadian indie rock band, based in Toronto, and consisting of Jason Nunes on vocals, guitar and piano, Darcy Rego on vocals and drums, Brian O'Reilly on guitar and synthesizer, and Michael Small on bass guitar. History The band was formed in 1997 in Mississauga by Nunes, Small and Rego, when the three attended Father Michael Goetz Secondary School in Mississauga. Their first public performance was in March 1998 at Club Shanghai in Toronto. The band pressed a demo cassette in May 1998, and its first album, ''Stars & Guitars'', was released by Ductape Records in April 2000.
