SRML Higher Secondary School
Government Sri Ranbir Model Higher Secondary School named after its founder Maharaja Ranbir Singh, is commonly known as SRML School and Ranbir School, It is a government boys higher secondary school in Jammu district of Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the first high school of Jammu region which was established by Maharaja Ranbir Singh in the late 19th century to promote higher school education in the state, then called as Rabir pathshala. The school is presently affiliated to Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE). History Dogra Ruler Maharaja Ranbir Singh founded the institute in 1872 and Maharaja Partap Singh completed its construction in 1884. The Other Backward Class is a collective term used by the Government of India to classify castes which are educationally or socially backward. General Nirmal Chander Vij PVSM, UYSM, AVSM (born 3 January 1943, in Jammu) was the 21st Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army. He held the office from 1 Jan 2003 to 31 Jan 2005. Anil Goswami
Anil Goswami (born 14 January 1955) is an Indian Administrative Service officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre and held the post of Union Home Secretary of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs till February 2015. He succeeded Raj Kumar Singh. He is the first civil servant from the state to hold this position. His son is the popular television actor Bhanu Uday. Narsingh Dev Jamwal (born 1931) is an Indian writer and playwright from Jammu, who has authored 48 books, including ''Sanjhi Dharti Bakhle Mahnu'' (novel), which won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1978. He received India's fourth highest civilian award, Padma Shri (2019) for his contribution in the field of literature and education. Life He was born in 1931 in Bhalwal. Balraj Puri (1928-2014) was an Indian Political commentator and human rights activist. Career A committed peace activist Balraj Puri began his career in journalism in 1942 and since then has worked in or edited several publications. Ram Nath Shastri
Padma Shri Ram Nath Shastri, known as the "Father of Dogri" for his pivotal role in the revival and resurgence of the Dogri language, was born on 15 April 1914.
