SOA (basketball Club)
Société Omnisports de l'Armée, commonly known as SOA, is an Ivorian basketball club based in Yamoussoukro. The team competes in the Ivorian Basketball Championship and was founded in 1932. The basketball section is a part of the same-named multi sports club. In 2021, SOA won its first-ever Ivorian championship after defeating ABC Fighters in two games. Asshe Kokoun was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. The Ivorian Basketball Championship is the premier basketball league for clubs in Ivory Coast. The league consist out of ten teams. The most notable team in the league's history is ABC Fighters, who won 21 titles. The champions of the national championship are eligible to play in the qualifying rounds of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Yamoussoukro
Yamoussoukro (; , locally ) is the ''de jure'' capital of Ivory Coast and an autonomous district. As of the 2014 census, Yamoussoukro is the fifth most populous city in Ivory Coast with a population of 212,670. Abidjan Basket Club Fighters, commonly known as ABC Fighters, is an Ivorian basketball club based in the city of Abidjan. Founded in 1997, the team is the most successful men teams in the country, with 19 national championships won, and one continental FIBA Africa Champions Cup in 2005. 2022 BAL Qualifying Tournaments
The qualification tournaments for the 2022 BAL season were the qualification rounds for the second season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The tournaments began on 19 October 2021 and ended 16 December 2021. The competition consisted out of two stages: the first round and the elite 16. Six teams advanced to the group phase of the BAL.
