SLW Ranch
The SLW Ranch, formerly known as the Percheron-Norman Horse Ranch, is an historic ranch located approximately east of Greeley, Colorado, near the confluence of the Platte River and Crow Creek. In 1998 it was honored by the Colorado Historical Society as a Centennial Ranch. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. The listing included 17 contributing buildings, 12 contributing structures, and a contributing site on . The SLW Ranch is named for the three initial partners - ''S'' for John Studebaker of wagon and automotive manufacturing fame, ''L'' for Lafayette Lamb, a lumber company executive and ''W'' for Harvey E Witwer, former manager of the Percheron-Norman Horse Ranch and nephew of Studebaker. John Studebaker
John Mohler Studebaker (10 October 1833 – 16 March 1917) was the Pennsylvania Dutch co-founder and later executive of what would become the Studebaker Corporation automobile company. He was the third son of the founding Studebaker family, and played a key role in the growth of the company during his years as president, from 1868 until his death in 1917. Earl Of Airlie
Earl of Airlie is a title of the peerage in Scotland created on 2 April 1639 for James Ogilvy, 7th Lord Ogilvy of Airlie, along with the title “Lord Ogilvy of Alith and Lintrathen.” The title “Lord Ogilvy of Airlie” was then created on 28 April 1491. In 1715, James Ogilvy, son of the 3rd Earl, took part in a Jacobite uprising against the Crown and was therefore punished by being attainted; consequently, after his father's death two years later, he was unable to inherit the title. He was, however, pardoned in 1725. After his death, his brother John was recognised as the Earl; John's son David was also attainted, but later pardoned.
