SK Slavia Prague
Sportovní klub Slavia Praha – fotbal (Sports Club Slavia Prague – Football, ), commonly known as Slavia Praha or Slavia Prague, is a Czech professional football club in Prague. Founded in 1892, they are the second most successful club in the Czech Republic since its independence in 1993. They play in the Czech First League, the top division in the Czech Republic. They play the Prague derby with Sparta Prague, the most important and heated rivalry in Czech football. Slavia has won 21 titles, several Czech cups, and the Mitropa Cup in 1938. 1934 FIFA World Cup
The 1934 FIFA World Cup was the second edition of the FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football championship for senior men's national teams. It took place in Italy from 27 May to 10 June 1934. The 1934 World Cup was the first in which teams had to qualify to take part. Thirty-two nations entered the competition; 16 teams would qualify for the final tournament. Reigning champions Uruguay boycotted the tournament as only four European teams had accepted their invitation to the 1930 tournament. Johnny Madden
John William "Jake" or "Johnny" Madden (11 June 1865 – 17 April 1948) was a Scottish footballer who played for Dumbarton, Gainsborough Trinity, Grimsby Town, Celtic, Dundee, Tottenham Hotspur and the Scotland national team. At Celtic, where he played for eight years, he won the Scottish Cup in 1892 (also losing in two other finals, adding to a defeat with Dumbarton in 1887) and the Scottish Football League title in 1892–93, 1893–94 and 1895–96, playing a leading role in their establishment as one of the leading clubs in the country, though he had been on the verge of leaving to join Sheffield Wednesday before professional contracts were officially introduced in Scottish football in 1893. Karel Freja
Karel Freja (17 November 1877 – 30 April 1937) was a Czech footballer who played as a forward. Early life Karel Freja was born on 17 November 1877 in the Old Town of Prague. He spent the period between 1888 and 1899 studying at the grammar school. He attended the Municipal High School, which was located in a beautiful building in today's Hellichová (then Novodvorská) Street in Malá Strana. Even as a high school student, Karel Freja took part in progressive events. Being active in the progressive movement caused Freja serious problems at school. National newspapers later wrote about him after the First World War: "he was already at the gymnasium on four with a disciplinary order for activity in the progressive movement." Královské Vinohrady (in English literally "Royal Vineyards" german: Königliche Weinberge) is a cadastral district in Prague. It is so named because the area was once covered in vineyards dating from the 14th century. SK Slavia Praha Ženy is a Czech women's football team from Prague representing SK Slavia Prague. It competes in the Czech First Division. History Slavia was a pioneer in women's football in Czechoslovakia, and won the first three editions of the Czech SR Championship between 1970 and 1972. It subsequently won six more trophies until 1989, when a final between the Czech and Slovak champions was organized. Slavia were the Czechoslovakian champions in 1992 and 1993. However, rivals Sparta Prague gained the upper hand in the new Czech League following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia.
