SK Skuld
Skuld Ski Club (Skiklubben Skuld) is a Norwegian skiing club, based in Oslo. The club was founded by Claus Frimann-Dahl, Andreas Moestue, Finn Moestue, Haavard Holter and Henning Brodtkorp on 9 January 1886, and is named after Skuld, one of the norns of Norse mythology. The club rented cabins at Ullevålseter from 1889 to 1891 and Aamot in Sørkedalen from 1892 to 1893. In 1894 their own cabin was built at Ullevålseter, ''Skuldstua''. It thereby became one of the exclusive "ski cabin clubs" in Oslo. Skuld was active in skiing from 1892, and had several able competitors. Founder Claus Frimann-Dahl won the Ladies' Cup and finished second in the Nordic combined at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival in 1896. Eivind Roll won the Ladies' Cup in 1897, and also achieved a hill record in Holmenkollbakken. W. B. Samson won the first ski competition in Austria in 1893. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The Norwegian Ski Federation ( no, Norges Skiforbund) is headquartered in Oslo, Norway and is the national representative of the International Ski Federation. Founded on 21 February 1908, it covers the skiing disciplines of alpine, cross-country, freestyle, Nordic combined, ski jumping, and snowboarding. The organization is also involved in the promotion of skiing in Norway, cooperating with the Association for the Promotion of Skiing. Holmenkollbakken
Holmenkollbakken is a large ski jumping hill located at Holmenkollen in Oslo, Norway. It has a hill size of HS134, a construction point of K-120, and a capacity for 70,000 spectators. Holmenkollen has hosted the Holmenkollen Ski Festival since 1892, which since 1980 have been part of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup and 1983 the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup. It has also hosted the 1952 Winter Olympics and the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 1930, 1966, 1982 and 2011. The hill has been rebuilt 19 times; important upgrades include a stone take-off in 1910, an in-run superstructure in 1914, and a new superstructure in 1928. During the Second World War, the venue was used as a military installation, but upgraded in the late 1940s. Further expansions were made ahead of the 1966 and 1982 World Championships, as well as in 1991. Between 2008 and 2010, the entire structure was demolished and rebuilt. The Holmenkollen Ski Festival ( no, Holmenkollen skifestival or ) is a traditional annual Nordic skiing event in Holmenkollen, Oslo, Norway. The full official name of the event is Holmenkollen FIS World Cup Nordic. History It takes place in March and has been arranged every year since 1892, except for 1898 and during World War II (1941–1945). The event is arranged by Skiforeningen and takes place at Holmenkollen National Arena and ski jumping hills Holmenkollbakken and Midtstubakken. Nordic combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skiing and ski jumping. Sørkedalen
Sørkedalen is a valley located in the northwestern part of Oslo municipality, northwest of Oslo's western suburbs, in Norway. The valley stretches from the suburb of Røa to Skansebakken. The valley is frequently used as an entry point to Nordmarka, the large wilderness recreational area to the north of Oslo. Sørkedalen is an agricultural valley with several small farms, and stables for recreational horse riding. The valley is a popular destination for outdoor activities like skiing, riding and golfing for the population of West End Oslo and Bærum.
