Thor Henning (13 September 1894 – 7 October 1967) was a Swedish breaststroke and freestyle swimmer who won a four medals at the 1912, 1920 and 1924 Summer Olympics. At the 1912 Summer Olympics he came second after German Walter Bathe in the 400 m breaststroke, and in 1920 he was beaten by teammate Håkan Malmrot Håkan Malmrot (29 November 1900 – 10 January 1987) was a Swedish breaststroke swimmer. Petter Stymne (born 9 May 1983 in Ryd, Sweden) is a Swedish swimmer from Skövde, representing SK Neptun from Stockholm. He competed for his native country at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Stymne became gold medalist and world record holder in the 4×50 meters freestyle together with Stefan Nystrand, Marcus Piehl and Jonas Tilly with the time of 1:24.89 on 10 December 2006 at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Helsinki, Finland. Simon Sjödin
Simon Sjödin (born 4 October 1986) is a Swedish competitive swimmer who represented Sweden at both the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2016 Olympic Games. He is of Gambian descent. Biography Simon Sjödin was born on 4 October 1986 into parents Kristina and Omar. Sjödin won his first Swedish Swimming Championships title in 2005, when he won the 200 meter butterfly. In 2007, he changed swim club from Södertörns SS to SK Neptun. In 2008, Simon Sjödin competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics representing Sweden. He finished 26th in the 200 m butterfly and 11th with the Swedish team in the 4 × 100 m medley relay. In 2016, he competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics having qualified to swim both 200 m butterfly and 200 m individual medley. Stefan Nystrand (born 20 October 1981 in Haninge) is a freestyle swimmer from Sweden. Biography His father Sture Nystrand is a Swede and his mother Smiljana Kokeza is a Croat from Split. Nystrand, a short course (25 m) specialist, has won five individual medals in the FINA Short Course World Championships, and captured his first medal (silver) in long course (50 m) in the 100 m freestyle at the 2006 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, behind Filippo Magnini of Italy. Mikaela Laurén (born 20 January 1976) is a Swedish professional boxer and former national team swimmer. In boxing she held the WBC female light middleweight title from 2014 to 2016, and has challenged once for the undisputed female welterweight championship in 2017. As of September 2020, she is ranked as the world's fourth best active light-middleweight by ''The Ring'' and seventh by BoxRec. Early life Laurén grew up in Enskede in southern Stockholm. Jane Cederqvist
Jane Barbro Iréne Cederqvist (1 July 1945 – 15 January 2023) was a Swedish freestyle swimmer. In 1960, she set two world records, won a silver medal at the 1960 Summer Olympics, and became the youngest person and the first woman to receive the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal. The following year she retired from swimming and later became a government official. Biography Cederqvist grew up in the suburbs of Stockholm. She learned to swim at age 6, and at age 12 started training in a club. Within a few years she became a world top freestyle swimmer, and won a bronze medal at the 1958 Swedish Junior Swimming Championships. She finished second in the 400 m freestyle at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, and a few days later set a new world record in the 1500 m freestyle in Sweden. Eriksdalsbadet
Eriksdalsbadet is the biggest swimming centre in Stockholm, Sweden The outdoor pool was built for the 1962 European Aquatics Championships. The new ''Eriksdalsbadet'' was built 1999 and was designed by architect Björn Thynberger. Facilities It has: *25 m swimming pool with a depth of mostly 2.5 m but it varies due to a specially-constructed raisable floor.
