SEN 21 is a Czech political movement established in 2017 by Senator Václav Láska. The party's candidate Tomáš Goláň won the 2018 Zlín by-election A by-election for the Zlín Senate seat in the Czech Republic was held on 18 and 19 May 2018 as a result of František Čuba's resignation. The second round was heldr 25 and 26 May 2018. Michaela Blahová and Tomáš Goláň advanced to second .... The party joined the European Democratic Party in February 2019. In October 2023 Senator 21 and Volt Czechia announced that they would be standing in the 2024 European elections with a joint list. Václav Láska (politician)
Václav Láska (born 4 August 1974 in Rakovník.) is a Czech politician and head of the Senator 21 party, which he founded in 2017. He was elected to the Czech Senate during the 2020 election. Láska ran as independent with the support of Czech Pirate Party. Besides his political career he is a barrister, former police investigator and chairman of the board of Transparency International. Biography He worked in the ranks of the Police of the Czech Republic from the age of 18. He started as a rank-and-file police officer in the district department, later worked as an assistant investigator and then an investigator at the Regional Investigation Office, specializing in economic crime. In 1999, he joined the Office of Financial Crime and State Protection (ÚFKOS), where he led investigations related to IPB and the Harvard funds. Volt Czech Republic ( cs, Volt Česko, Volt) is a social liberal political party in the Czech Republic and the Czech branch of Volt Europa. History Volt Czech Republic was founded in 2019 and operated in the Czech Republic from 11 April 2021 to 28 June 2022 as a registered association Volt Česká Republika to prepare for party formation and collect signatures. 2020 Teplice By-election
A by-election for the Teplice Senate seat in the Czech Republic was held in 2020, following the death of Jaroslav Kubera. The election, originally scheduled for 27 and 28 March 2020, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic. The first round was eventually held on 5 and 6 June 2020. Hynek Hanza received the highest number of votes and advanced to a runoff, in which he defeated Zdeněk Bergman and became the new Senator. 2018 Czech Senate Election
Senate elections were held in the Czech Republic on 5 and 6 October 2018 alongside municipal elections, with a second round held on 12 and 13 October 2018. The Conservative Civic Democratic Party (ODS) won the election with 10 seats. Governing parties ANO 2011 and the Czech Social Democratic Party were heavily defeated, winning only 1 seat each. The Communist Party lost its last seat in the Senate when Václav Homolka failed to be re-elected, meaning the party would be without representation in the Senate for the first time in the history of Czech Republic. Elections were held in the Czech Republic from 7 to 8 June 2024 to elect 21 Czech representatives for the European Parliament, alongside the EU-wide 2024 European Parliament election. A by-election for the Zlín Senate seat in the Czech Republic was held on 18 and 19 May 2018 as a result of František Čuba's resignation. The second round was heldr 25 and 26 May 2018. Syncretic politics, or spectral-syncretic politics, combine elements from across the conventional left–right political spectrum. Tomáš Goláň (born 1 December 1968 in Vsetín) is a Czech tax adviser. He was elected member of Senate during 2018 Zlín by-election, 2018 by-election for Zlín seat and reelected during 2020 Czech Senate election. Biography He studied at the Faculty of Business and Economics of Mendel University. He worked as an economist at Zlín until 1993 when he became tax advisor. He became widely known for his fight against Preliminary injunctions by Financial administration. He received award from Deník Referendum which chose him the Second Person of 2017.
