SC Eltersdorf
The SC Eltersdorf is a German association football club from the Eltersdorf district of Erlangen, Bavaria. An amateur club who has mostly played in the lower leagues of Bavaria, the club achieved its greatest success in 2011–12 when it earned promotion to the Regionalliga. History While football was played in Eltersdorf as early as 1909, in the form of the ''Franken Eltersdorf'', the current club dates back to 1926. With support from another local working maes club, the ATSV Erlangen, ATSV Eltersdorf was formed in 1926. The new club only lasted for a decade before the Nazis outlawed it because of its working-class background. A new club was formed instead, the DTV 1936 Eltersdorf. This club, in turned only lasted for another decade before it disappeared with the end of the Second World War. Bayernliga
The Bayernliga (English: Bavarian league) is the highest amateur football league and the second highest football league (under the Regionalliga Bayern) in the state of Bavaria (german: Bayern) and the Bavarian football league system. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fourth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the third tier. From the 2012–13 season onwards, the league has been divided once more into a northern and a southern division, having previously placed in single division format since 1963. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. In some leagues, playoffs or qualifying rounds are also used to determine rankings. The Landesliga Bayern sits at step 6 of the German football league system and is the third highest level in the Bavarian football league system, below the Bayernliga and organised in five regional divisions. The current Landesligas were formed in 1963, when the Bundesliga was established. From 2012, when the Regionalliga Bayern was established, the Landesligas were expanded from three to five divisions. Bezirksoberligen Bayern
The seven Bezirksoberligas Bayern were the third highest level of the Bavarian football league system, below the Bayernliga and the Landesliga Bayern from 1988 to 2012. They were the seventh tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the sixth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fifth tier. Overview The seven Bezirksoberligas were introduced in 1988 to create a highest single-division playing level for each of the seven Bezirke. The 2015–16 season of the Bayernliga, the second highest association football league in Bavaria, was the eighth season of the league at tier five (V) of the German football league system and the 71st season overall since establishment of the league in 1945. The league season started on 17 July 2015 and ended on 21 May 2016. It was interrupted by a winter break, which lasted from early December 2015 to late February 2016. Modus The northern and southern divisions of the Bayernliga consist of 18 clubs each.
