SAP FC
The SAP Football Club is an Antiguan football team playing in the Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division. It is based in Bolans. SAP stands for Spirit, Attitude & Performance. History SAP Football Club originated in 1979 in Bolans Village by a group of friends who were often considered outcast by the villagers. As of such, the guys did everything together; ate, prayed, smoke, attended school, worked and played football together. A customary practice for the fellas was cooking and naming their dishes. These names range from, Yham Till You Drop, Bun Up Joe, Belly Full, Bun Bottom etc. However, they frequently cooked a meal called Sappy Rice. So when the guys decided to form a football team in 1977 to play in the Bolans Community League they called their team Sappy, a derivation from the dish Sappy Rice. Antigua Recreation Ground
Antigua Recreation Ground is the national stadium of Antigua and Barbuda. It is located in St. John's, on the island of Antigua. The ground has been used by the West Indies cricket team and Antigua and Barbuda national football team. It had Test cricket status. It was also known as the Old Recreation Ground, or the Old Rec. against England in the ''"Blackwash"'' series of 1986 at the Recreation Ground. It was also where Brian Lara twice set the record for highest individual Test innings, scoring 375 in 1994 and the current record of 400 not out in 2004, both times against England. Peter Byers (born 20 October 1984) is an Antiguan footballer who plays professionally for SAP FC and the Antigua and Barbuda national team as a striker. Club career Born in Bolans Village, Byers spent his early career in his native Antigua and Barbuda with SAP, and in Trinidad and Tobago with San Juan Jabloteh. Byers joined Montreal Impact of the USL First Division on 27 August 2008, a week before the roster freeze date. He was invited to trial with the San Jose Earthquakes during the 2009 MLS pre-season, but signed a new two-year deal with the Impact on 18 February 2009, after failing to agree a contract with the Earthquakes. In the 2009 season he was briefly loaned to Trois-Rivières Attak in the Canadian Soccer League, where he appeared in 2 matches and scored 1 goal. Teran Williams (born 20 November 1984) is an Antiguan footballer who plays for Antigua Barracuda FC in the USL Professional Division. Club career Williams began his professional career in 2004 with Bassa in the Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division, before moving to SAP FC in 2007. Karanja Mack (born 24 August 1987) is an Antiguan footballer currently playing for Antigua Barracuda FC in the USL Professional Division.
