Line S27 was a former line on the Munich S-Bahn network. It was operated by DB Regio Bayern until 15 December 2013 and ran from Munich Central Station (''Hauptbahnhof'') via Solln to Deisenhofen over the Munich–Holzkirchen railway. Its services have been replaced by services operated by ''Meridian'', a brand of Veolia Verkehr, initially using class 423 four-car electrical multiple units. These services run from Munich to Holzkirchen and continuing via the Mangfall Valley Railway to Rosenheim Rosenheim is a city in Bavaria, Germany. The Munich S-Bahn (german: S-Bahn München) is an Railway electrification system, electric rail transit system in Munich, Germany. Mangfall Valley Railway
The Mangfall Valley Railway (german: Mangfalltalbahn) () is a single-tracked, electrified railway that runs through the Mangfall valley in Bavaria, Germany, between Holzkirchen and Rosenheim. It is exclusively used by regional services. However it also acts as a diversionary line in case of difficulties on the Munich–Rosenheim railway. History The Mangfall Valley Railway was part of the first rail link between Munich and Rosenheim (and beyond that to Salzburg/Kufstein), the so-called '' Maximiliansbahn''. It was built by the state of Bavaria and completed on 31 October 1857. At that time the route ended in the Rosenheim suburb of ''Am Roßacker''. The Munich–Holzkirchen railway is a continuously-electrified, double-track, railway in the German state of Bavaria. It runs from Munich Central Station, Munich to Holzkirchen, Upper Bavaria, Holzkirchen via Deisenhofen station, Deisenhofen. Deisenhofen Station
Deisenhofen is a Munich S-Bahn railway station in Deisenhofen, a district of Oberhaching. History Deisenhofen station was opened in 1862 on the Munich–Holzkirchen section of the Bavarian Maximilian Railway. Since 10 October 1898 there has also been a connection to Munich East station, the Munich East–Deisenhofen railway. Since 1972, the station has been integrated in the network of the Munich S-Bahn.
