S. M. Emdadul Hoque is a justice on the Appellate Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court. Early life Hoque was born on 7 November 1963. He completed his bachelor's degree and masters in law from the University of Rajshahi. Career Hoque started working as a district court lawyer on 7 October 1990. On 26 November 1992, Hoque became a lawyer of the High Court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court. Hoque was appointed an additional judge of the High Court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court on 23 August 2004. He became a permanent judge on 23 August 2006. Hoque along with 18 other judges opposed a High Court Division judgement that ordered the government to confirm the appointment of 10 judges denied by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party government in July 2008. The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh is the appellate court in Bangladesh. The Appellate Division is the final court of appeal for all civil and criminal cases, with appellate review authority over judgements of the High Court Division. Rapid Action Battalion
Rapid Action Battalion or RAB, is an anti-crime and anti-terrorism unit of the Bangladesh Police. This elite force consists of members of the Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Civil Service and Bangladesh Ansar. It was formed on 26 March 2004 as RAT (Rapid Action Team), and commenced operations on 14 April 2004. From 2004 to 2008 RAB had killed 1,062 people. Joynal Abedin Hazari (24 August 1945 – 27 December 2021) was a Bangladeshi politician who was a member of the Bangladesh Awami League and served as a member of Jatiya Sangsad, representing the Feni-2 constituency.
