S. G. De Graaf
Simon Gerrit De Graaf (23 May 1889 – 22 December 1955), known as S. G. De Graaf, was a Dutch Calvinism, Reformed minister and theologian. De Graaf was a minister of the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands in Amsterdam. Cornelis Veenhof suggests that he "exercised a deeper influence than any one of the Amsterdam professors of theology." De Graaf was associated with Klaas Schilder but did not join him in the formation of the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands (Liberated). De Graaf is best known for his four volume work, ''Verbondsgeschiedenis'', translated into English as ''Promise and Deliverance'' by H. Evan Runner. Al Wolters calls it a "popular guide to reading the Bible in the Redemptive-historical preaching, redemptive-historical way that had been developed or rediscovered in neocalvinism." Klaas Schilder
Klaas Schilder (19 December 1890 – 23 March 1952) was a Dutch Neo-Calvinist theologian and professor in the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands (Dutch ''Gereformeerde Kerken in Nederland'' or GKN) and later in the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands (liberated) (Dutch ''Gereformeerde Kerken (vrijgemaakt)''). Schilder was born into a national church ('' Nederlandse Hervormde Kerk'') family in Kampen, the Netherlands; the family joined the Gereformeerde Kerken when he was a child. Reformed Churches In The Netherlands (Liberated)
The Reformed Churches in the Netherlands (Liberated) (Dutch: Gereformeerde Kerken in Nederland (vrijgemaakt)) are an orthodox Calvinist federation of churches. This church body arose in 1944 out of the so-called Liberation (') from the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands, when many pastors and members refused to go along with the General Synod's demand to hold to "presumed regeneration of infants" at their baptism. Klaas Schilder played an important role in the Liberation. There are currently 270 affiliated local congregations with a total of about 120,000 members in 2016. Since 2017, the denomination has been in the process of merging with the Netherlands Reformed Churches, which together hope to form, on March 1, 2023, the Dutch Reformed Churches, a new denomination. Albert Marten "Al" Wolters (born 1942) is an emeritus professor of religion at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ontario (near Hamilton). Neo-Calvinism, a form of Dutch Calvinism, is a theological movement initiated by the theologian and former Dutch prime minister Abraham Kuyper. James Bratt has identified a number of different types of Dutch Calvinism: The Seceders, split into the Reformed Church "West" and the Confessionalists; the neo-Calvinists; and the Positives and the Antithetical Calvinists.
