S. Anungla
S. Anungla is the first full-time female pastor amongst the Chang Naga tribes in Nagaland. In 2011, she was appointed to the position at Chang Baptist Church in Kohima. Education She completed her Bachelor in Theology and Bachelor in Divinity from the Union Biblical Seminary in Pune. Pastoral life After her theology studies, she worked at the Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS) in Tuensang with drug addicts in rehabilitation for three months. Chang Naga
Chang is a Naga ethnic group of Nagaland, India. It is one of the recognized Scheduled Tribes. The tribe was also known as Mazung in British India. Other Naga ethnic groups know the Changs by different names including ''Changhai'' ( Khiamniungan), ''Changru'' (Yimkhiung), ''Duenching'' (upper Konyak), ''Machungrr'' ( Ao), ''Mochumi'' ( Sümi) and ''Mojung'' (Konyak). Origin According to oral tradition, the Changs emerged from a place called Changsangmongko, and later settled at Changsang. The word Chang is said to have been derived from the word (banyan tree), after a mythical banyan tree that grew at the now-abandoned Changsang. Another theory says that the Chang migrated to present-day Nagaland from the east, and therefore call themselves Chang ("Eastern" in the local dialect). Union Biblical Seminary
Union Biblical Seminary (UBS) is a theological seminary founded by Wesleyan theology , Wesleyan and Methodist denominations in Pune, India. UBS started as a Marathi-medium Bible School opened by the Free Methodist Church and was finally established in 1953 and initially located in Yavatmal, before relocating to Pune in 1983. It is affiliated with the Senate of Serampore College (University). It is the largest seminary under Wesleyan-Holiness movement in India. The seminary is famous for contextualising theology to Indian Postcolonialism, post-colonial context and in promoting New Perspective on Paul, Christian egalitarianism, Evangelical feminism or egalitarianism, Dalit theology and Progressive Christianity, progressive Wesleyan viewpoint.
