S.V. Coronie Boys
Sportvereniging Coronie Boys is an association football club from Totness, Suriname. Having spent spells in both the Hoofdklasse and Eerste Klasse, the club currently compete in the lower divisions of Surinamese football. History S.V. Coronie Boys were the first club from the Coronie District to compete in the SVB Hoofdklasse, breaking ground at the top flight in 1957. The team won the Randdistrictentoernooi in 1989, and won the Interdistrictentoernooi the following year. In the 1994–95 season Coronie Boys finished as the league runner-up to S.V. Robinhood. They also finished as runner's up in the Suriname President's Cup to Robinhood that same year, The team currently play their home games at the Letitia Vriesde Sportcomplex on the Totness polder to a capacity of 1,000 people. Letitia Vriesde Sportcomplex is a multi-purpose stadium in Totness, Suriname. It is home to SVB Eerste Klasse club F.C. West United. Former top flight clubs and Coronie Sport Bond (CSB) members F.C. Corona and S.V. Coronie Boys are also tenants of the stadium. Totness, Suriname
Totness is a town in Suriname, located in the Coronie district, of which it is the capital. Totness is the oldest settlement in the district. History Totness was settled by Scottish and English colonists from 1808 onward, and is named after Totnes, England. In 1863, the area around Totness was designated for independent agriculture. A market and a District Commissioner's Office on the former plantation Friendship were added to the resort. In the 1940s, a road was built linking Totness with Paramaribo which is nowadays part of the East-West Link. The Suriname-Guyana Submarine Cable System has its landing station in Totness. It connects the telecommunications networks in Suriname with those in Guyana and Trinidad and from Trinidad to the rest of the world. SVB Derde Divisie
The SVB Derde Divisie ( en, Member Associations Tournament) is an annual football tournament organized by the Surinamese Football Association (SVB) since 2006. It is also known as the SURIBET Lidbondentoernooi due to sponsorship. The tournament is contested by the winners and runners-up of the districts leagues from the 20 regional member associations of the SVB. The winner and runner-up of the tournament can then qualify for the SVB Eerste Klasse, the 2nd tier of football in Suriname. In 2017, the competition was rebranded as the SVB Derde Divisie. The SVB Eerste Divisie is the highest football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The Topklasse is at the top of the system of Surinamese football championships. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June of the next year, with teams playing 30 games in the regular season. The league was known as the Hoofdklasse but became Topklasse beginning with the 2016–17 season, and then from the 2017–18 season forward, the Eerste Divisie. The SVB Tweede Divisie is second-highest division overall in the Surinamese football league system after the Topklasse, where the top club is promoted to each season. The weakest club is relegated to the Lidbondentoernooi. The league was previously known as the SVB Eerste Klasse but became the Hoofdklasse for the 2016–17 season after Suriname's top division changed its name from Hoofdklasse to Topklasse, only to be rebranded as the Tweede Divisie for the 2017–18 season. Coronie District
Coronie is a district of Suriname, situated on the coast. Coronie's capital city is Totness. The district border the Atlantic Ocean to the north, the Surinamese district of Saramacca to the east, the Surinamese district of Sipaliwini to the south and the Surinamese district of Nickerie to the west. The district is served by the Totness Airstrip. The district has a population of 3,391 and an area of 3,902 km2, and is the district with the smallest population.
