S.S. Basket Napoli
S.S. Basket Napoli was an Italian professional basketball club that was based in Naples, Campania. The club's full name was Società Sportiva Basket Napoli. The team ceased activities in 2009. History The team was playing in the second division LegaDue as Serapide Pozzuoli when it was moved to Naples and came under the ownership of Mario Maione. After the 2001–2002 season, the club was promoted to the first division Serie A after winning the LegaDue. Basket Napoli took part in the ULEB Cup 2004-05, in the 2006-07 EuroLeague and won the Italian Cup in 2006. In September 2008, Basket Napoli was excluded from the Serie A along with Orlandina Basket due to financial problems. Restarting from the regional leagues, the side was dissolved in 2009. Ansu Martin Sesay, Jr. (born July 29, 1976) is an American former professional basketball player. High school and college career Sesay attended Willowridge High School in Houston, Texas. He led his team to the school's first state title in basketball in 1994. Sesay starred at University of Mississippi, where he was named first-team all-SEC during both his junior and senior seasons and was the SEC's player of the year during his senior year. NBA Sesay was selected 30th overall by the Dallas Mavericks in the 1998 NBA Draft. After the NBA's lockout ended, he tore his ACL during a condensed training camp and spent the entire 1999 season on the injured list. John Leslie Turner (born November 30, 1967) is an American former professional basketball player. Professional career Turner was selected by the Houston Rockets in the first round (20th pick overall) of the 1991 NBA draft, playing for the team in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for one season. LaMarr Vernon Greer (born May 16, 1976) is a high school McDonald's All American and retired American basketball player. After short stints in the United States Basketball League and the International Basketball League, he embarked on a professional career in Europe. Greer retired in 2013. Greer grew up in Middle Township, New Jersey. Andre Davon Hutson (born January 12, 1979) is an American former professional basketball player. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he played as small forward and power forward and he is 2.02 m tall. Henry Williams (basketball)
Henry Williams (June 6, 1970 – March 13, 2018), nicknamed, "Hi-Fly", was an American professional basketball player. College career Williams played college basketball for UNC Charlotte, under head coach Jeff Mullins, from 1988 through 1992. From his four years with the Charlotte 49ers, Williams remains the 49ers' all-time leading scorer, with 2,383 points. The school has also retired his number 34 jersey. He helped lead the 49ers to the 1992 NCAA Tournament, and to an 1989 NIT berth. Dontae' Antijuaine Jones (born June 2, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player, formerly of the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Jones played college basketball at Northeast Mississippi Community College where he is the Tigers' all-time leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker. His #32 jersey has been retired by the school. After playing two seasons for the Tigers he transferred to Mississippi State University to finish his college career. Michael Dunkin Penberthy (born November 29, 1974) is an American professional basketball coach and former player. A point guard from The Master's College (now The Master's University), Penberthy went undrafted in the 1997 NBA draft but played for the Los Angeles Lakers, winning an NBA championship in 2001. Óscar Torres (born December 18, 1976) is a Venezuelan former professional basketball player who last played with Marinos de Anzoategui of the Venezuelan League. A 6'6" native of Caracas, Torres played at the shooting guard and small forward positions. Professional career Torres became the first Venezuelan-born player in National Basketball Association (NBA) history, when he signed with the Houston Rockets, for the 2001–02 NBA season. Torres averaged 6.0 points over the course of the season, and scored an NBA career-high 28 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers, on December 11, 2001. Bennett Davison (born November 21, 1975) is a retired American basketball player who played professionally for over ten years, including several seasons in Italy's Lega Basket Serie A. Davison is also known for his success as a college player, where he was a starter on the University of Arizona's 1997 NCAA championship team. Davison was born in San Francisco and raised in Sebastopol, California. He was lightly recruited after his high school career at Analy High School and landed at West Valley College, a community college. After two strong seasons, Davison attracted the attention of coach Lute Olson at Arizona, and was offered a scholarship with the Wildcats. Jerome Byron Allen (born January 28, 1973) is an American former professional basketball player and college head coach. He is the former head coach for the University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team, until resigning after the 2014–15 season. He is currently an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Early life Allen was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 28, 1973.
