Ryan Rishaug
Ryan Rishaug (born April 26, 1977) is a sports broadcaster with TSN. He is currently the Edmonton Bureau Reporter for SportsCentre, TSN's flagship sports news program, and hosts ''The Morning Mandate with Ryan Rishaug'' every weekday at 8:30 a.m. on TSN 1260. Early life Rishaug was born in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Before entering sports broadcasting, he played 47 games in the WHL hockey league, at right wing on the Kamloops Blazers. He attended the Broadcast Communications program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Broadcasting career Rishaug began his broadcasting career in 1998, as a sports reporter at CFJC-TV in Kamloops, British Columbia. He also worked as a sports anchor and reporter for CTV owned-and-operated station Sudbury-based CICI-TV from 1999 to 2000 and as a sports anchor for Global owned-and-operated station CFSK-TV in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 2000. Winger (hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. Humboldt Broncos Bus Crash
On April 6, 2018, sixteen people were killed and thirteen were injured when a northbound coach bus struck a westbound semi-trailer truck near Armley, Saskatchewan, Canada. The driver of the semi-truck had failed to yield at a flashing stop sign at the intersection of Highways 35 and 335. The semi-trailer was travelling at a speed of approximately 100 km/h (60 mph). Most of the deceased and injured were players from the Humboldt Broncos, a junior ice hockey team from Humboldt, Saskatchewan, which plays in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). On July 6, 2018, the RCMP charged 29-year-old Jaskirat Singh Sidhu, the driver of the semi-truck, with sixteen counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and 13 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily injury. Humboldt Broncos
The Humboldt Broncos are a Canadian junior "A" ice hockey team from Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Established in 1970, the Broncos play in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. History The Broncos were established in 1970 by a group of local organizers. The team was originally affiliated with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League, who supplied the team with team name, jerseys and some players. They also had a close affiliation that year with St Peter's College in nearby Muenster. The Edmonton Elks are a professional Canadian football team based in Edmonton, Alberta.
