CFRN is a Canadian Class A, 50,000 watt (directional at night) radio station in Edmonton, Alberta. CFRN is unusual in that it is a Class A (protected nighttime skywave) AM station on a regional frequency. Owned by Bell Media and broadcasting on 1260 AM, the station airs a sports format, branded as '' TSN 1260 Edmonton''. The station's studios are located at 18520 Stony Plain Road in Edmonton, where it shares studio space with its sister station, CFRN-DT. As of February 28, 2021, CFRN is the 17th-most-listened-to radio station in the Edmonton market according to a PPM data report released by Numeris. CISL (AM)
CISL (650 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Richmond, British Columbia, and serving the Greater Vancouver radio market. It is owned by Rogers Sports & Media and airs a sports format branded as ''Sportsnet 650 Vancouver''. It is the flagship station of the Vancouver Giants, Vancouver Canucks, Abbotsford Canucks, and is the Vancouver affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners. On weekdays, local hosts are heard most of the day, while CBS Sports Radio is heard late nights and weekends. Standard Radio
Slaight Communications is a Canadian radio broadcasting company. The company was formed as Slaight Broadcasting in 1971, when owner J. Allan Slaight acquired CFGM in Richmond Hill. Slaight later also acquired CFOX in Montreal and CHOK in Sarnia, and launched CILQ in Toronto. The company later sold off all of its original assets, and continued to operate its radio holdings through the Standard Broadcasting division after Slaight bought out that company in 1985. As Standard, it remained the largest privately owned multimedia company in Canada until it sold its radio and TV broadcasting assets to Astral Media in 2007. Oldies is a term for musical genres such as pop music, rock and roll, doo-wop, surf music (broadly characterized as classic rock and pop rock) from the second half of the 20th century, specifically from around the mid-1950s to the 1980s, as well as for a radio format playing this music. Electrohome
Founded in 1907, Electrohome was Canada's largest manufacturer of television sets (TVs) from 1949 to 1987. The company was also involved in television broadcasting, and was a leader in data, video, graphics displays and projectors. From 1984 to 1999, Electrohome-branded TVs were produced under licence by Mitsubishi Electric, and from 1999 to 2007 by Jutan (distributed by Canadian distributor Citizen Electronics). CBR is a Canadian clear-channel radio station, broadcasting at 1010 kHz in Calgary, Alberta. It broadcasts the programming of the CBC Radio One network. CBR's studios are located in the Parkdale neighbourhood of northwest Calgary, while its transmitters are located in southeast Calgary. CBR's daytime signal covers most of the southern two-thirds of Alberta. It can be heard at city-grade strength from Red Deer to Lethbridge, and provides secondary coverage as far as Edmonton to the north and several counties on the Montana-Alberta border to the south. Dominion Network
The Dominion Network was the second English-language radio network of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation from January 1, 1944 to 1962. It consisted of the CBC-owned CJBC radio station in Toronto and a series of 34 privately owned affiliates from coast-to-coast. The Dominion Network was set up as a complementary network to the CBC's main English service which became known as the Trans-Canada Network.
