Russian Rugby League Federation (russian: Федерация Регбилиг России) was the governing body for rugby league in Russia until 2010. It was founded in 1978 mainly as a governing body for Moscow-based teams, and became the head body for all of Russia in 1986. The Russian Rugby League Federation became affiliated to the Rugby League International Federation in 1993. In 2003 the Russia national rugby league team, Russia became a full test nation in rugby league. Russian Ministry of Sports order number 21 dated 20 January 2010, expelled Rugby League from the State Register of Sports of Russia. Rugby League European Federation
The European Rugby League (ERL) is the Umbrella organization, umbrella body for nations playing the sport of rugby league football across Europe. In the absence of other continental federations, ERL also controls rugby league in North America (including Central America), the Middle East and Africa. History 2003-2019 The federation was founded January 2003 following an initiative between Richard Lewis (tennis and rugby league), Richard Lewis, Executive Chairman of United Kingdom, Britain's Rugby Football League (RFL) and his France, French counterpart Jean Paul Ferre. The RLEF's first constitution was approved in January 2004 and the federation's first Board of Directors was elected. Rugby League
Rugby league football, commonly known as just rugby league and sometimes football, footy, rugby or league, is a full-contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players on a rectangular field measuring 68 metres (75 yards) wide and 112–122 metres (122 to 133 yards) long with H shaped posts at both ends. The Russia national rugby league team (also known as The Bears) represent Russia in international rugby league tournaments and other rugby league fixtures. The Bears, played their first fixtures against two British club sides: York Wasps and Fulham RLFC. In 2013, Russia became a full member of the Rugby League International Federation. 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

Russian Championship (rugby)
The Russian Championship (sometimes referred to as the Russian Super League or the Championship of Russia) is the major rugby league tournament for clubs in Russia. Currently six teams from across Russia compete in this competition. The league is governed by the Russian Rugby League. It was established in 1991 to form a national rugby league competition from the many amateur and semi-professional leagues in Moscow, Kazan and other districts of Russia. An attempt was made to organize and register a national competition during the USSR era, but permission was denied on the basis of the professional status of the game.
