Rugby Livorno 1931 is an Italian rugby union team from Livorno. The club was founded in 1931 (hence that year in the club's name) and spent several seasons in the Italy's top tier championship. Rugby Livorno 1931's best placement in the Italian Premiership was 6th place in 1989/90 and they played overall 17 seasons in the main division. Currently the team plays in Serie B, the third division of Italian rugby union. The Italian Rugby Federation ( it, Federazione Italiana Rugby) or FIR is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in Italy. The FIR has one seat on the 28-member World Rugby Council, the governing body of World Rugby. (All other members of the Six Nations have two seats on the Council.) The Top10, known as the Peroni Top10 for sponsorship reasons, and formerly Top 12, is Italy's top level professional men's rugby union competition. The Top 10 is run by Federazione Italiana Rugby (FIR) and is contested by 10 teams as of the 2019–2020 season, following the Italian federation's decision to name Peroni as the official partner of the Top10 competition. Stefano Bettarello
Stefano Bettarello (born 2 April 1958, in Rovigo) is an Italian former rugby union player. He played as a fly-half for several clubs, mainly Rovigo and Benetton Treviso, winning an Italian Championship with each. Son of Romano Bettarello and nephew of Ottorino Bettarello, both international players for Italy, he was considered amongst of the best Italian players of his generation. He won 55 full caps for Italy, from 1979 to 1988, scoring 7 tries, 46 conversions, 104 penalties and 17 drop goals totalising 483 points, that made him the second best international scorer for his country after Diego Dominguez. Michael Cheika
Michael Cheika (born 4 March 1967) is an Australian rugby union and rugby league coach, and former rugby union player. He is currently head coach of Argentina in rugby union and Lebanon in rugby league. Cheika was the coach of the Australia rugby union team from 2014 to 2019. In 2015, he received the World Rugby Coach of the Year award. He is the only coach to have won the major rugby club competition in each hemisphere, winning the Heineken Cup with Leinster in 2009 and Super Rugby with the New South Wales Waratahs in 2014. During his career, Cheika was also head coach at Padova, Randwick and Stade Français. Cheika is a second-generation Lebanese Australian; his parents immigrated to Australia during the 1950s. Andrea De Rossi (born 8 August 1972 in Genova) is an Italian former rugby union footballer and a current coach. He played as number eight. De Rossi first team was Rugby Livorno, where he played from 1990/91 to 1999/2000. He then went to represent Rugby Calvisano, from 2000/01 to 2003/04, then, as player-coach, Gran Parma Rugby, from 2003/04 to 2005/06, and Rugby Club I Cavalieri Prato, from 2006/07 to 2009/10. Fabio Gaetaniello (born 25 August 1958 in Livorno) is a former Italian rugby union player and coach. He played as a centre. Club career He started his career at CUS Pisa, like his brother Fabrizio, who also would be an international player, where he played until 1977/78. He moved afterwards to Rugby Livorno 1931, being at their squad from 1978/79 to 1981/82. He had his debut at Italian Championship in 1978. He moved to Rugby Parma F.C. 1931, where he played from 1982/83 to 1987/88. Once again, he returned to Rugby Livorno 1931, his team from 1988/89 to 1993/94, where he finished his player career. Gianluca Guidi (born 2 February 1968) is an Italian rugby union coach and former player. He played as a scrum-half. Guidi was born in Livorno. He played almost all his entire career at Rugby Livorno 1931, from 1989–1990 to 1996–1997, spending a single season at L'Aquila Rugby in 1997–1998, and once again at Rugby Livorno 1931, from 1998–1999 to 2000–2001. Marzio Innocenti (born 4 September 1958, in Livorno) is a former Italian rugby union player and coach and current sports director. He played as a flanker and a number 8. Since 21 March 2021 he's the president of the Italian rugby federation. He works as physician. Playing career He grew up playing for Livorno but spent most of his career in Padua playing for Petrarca, team with which he won four league titles (the last one as the captain of the side). He made his international debut for Italy in 1981 in the FIRA Trophy (a predecessor of the present-day European Nations Cup) in a 23-0 win against Western Germany proceeding to win a total of 42 caps (20 as a captain) until his international retirement in 1988. David Knox is an Australian former rugby union footballer and coach. Life and career Knox was capped 13 times for Australia and was a member of the 1991 Australian World Cup champion squad. Prior to winning eight First Grade Premiership with Randwick, he lost a Second Grade Premiership to the very strong Eastwood Rugby Club team in 1983. Knox was regularly the appointed goal kicker in teams he joined, known as "the man for the job."
