David Knox (rugby Union)
David Knox is an Australian former rugby union footballer and coach. Life and career Knox was capped 13 times for Australia and was a member of the 1991 Australian World Cup champion squad. Prior to winning eight First Grade Premiership with Randwick, he lost a Second Grade Premiership to the very strong Eastwood Rugby Club team in 1983. Knox was regularly the appointed goal kicker in teams he joined, known as "the man for the job." He also played with Petrarca Padova Rugby (1986–1989) where he won the 1987 National Championship, Rugby Livorno (1990–1992), Bristol Rugby (1998) and Racing Métro 92, Narbonne (1999). From 1996 he played for the ACT Brumbies, where he subsequently held the position of assistant backs coach, in the Super 12 (now Super Rugby) from 1996 to 1998 including the 1997 Super 12 season against the Auckland Blues. Coogee, New South Wales
Coogee is a beachside suburb of local government area City of Randwick 8 kilometres south-east of the Sydney central business district, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is typically associated as being part of the Eastern Suburbs region. The Tasman Sea and Coogee Bay along with Coogee Beach lie towards the eastern side of the suburb. Super Rugby is a men's professional rugby union club competition involving teams from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. It previously included teams from Argentina, Japan, and South Africa. Building on various Southern Hemisphere competitions dating back to the South Pacific Championship in 1986, with teams from a number of southern nations, the Super Rugby started as the Super 12 in the 1996 season with 12 teams from 3 countries: Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Michael Cheika
Michael Cheika (born 4 March 1967) is an Australian rugby union and rugby league coach, and former rugby union player. He is currently head coach of Argentina in rugby union and Lebanon in rugby league. Cheika was the coach of the Australia rugby union team from 2014 to 2019. In 2015, he received the World Rugby Coach of the Year award. He is the only coach to have won the major rugby club competition in each hemisphere, winning the Heineken Cup with Leinster in 2009 and Super Rugby with the New South Wales Waratahs in 2014. During his career, Cheika was also head coach at Padova, Randwick and Stade Français. Cheika is a second-generation Lebanese Australian; his parents immigrated to Australia during the 1950s.
