Royal Malaysian Navy Museum
Royal Malaysian Navy Museum ( ms, Muzium Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia) is a museum which exhibits items used by the Royal Malaysian Navy in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia. Exhibits included photos of admirals, medals of honor, as well as information about the various ranks in the naval command, evolution of naval uniforms, naval weapons, communication equipment, navigation symbols and training programs. The museum was formerly located at Royal Malaysian Naval Base in Lumut, Perak. It was then relocated to Malacca to take the advantage of the larger number of tourists, both local and foreign visitors. The new location of the naval museum was opened to the public on 28 October 1995. Malacca ( ms, Melaka) is a state in Malaysia located in the southern region of the Malay Peninsula, next to the Strait of Malacca. The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN, ms, Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia; TLDM; Jawi: ) is the naval arm of the Malaysian Armed Forces. RMN is the main agency responsible for the country's maritime surveillance and defense operations. Lumut, Malaysia
Lumut is a coastal town (population 31,880) and mukim in Manjung District, Perak, Malaysia, situated about from Ipoh, from the town of Sitiawan and it is the main gateway to Pangkor Island before established Marina Island Pangkor as second gateway. It is noted for seashell and coral handicrafts. This once little-known fishing town has since become the home base of the Royal Malaysian Navy and the site of the biggest naval shipbuilder in Malaysia, Boustead. Lumut in Malay means moss, lichen, or seaweed. In its early days, the beach was said to be rich in moss, so the local people called it Lumut. Perak () is a state of Malaysia on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula.
