Rottweiler Records is a Christian metal record label based out of Dallas, Texas, United States. The label features bands such as Lust Control, Soul Embraced, The Jericho Harlot, and Pantokrator. The label started early on as a label that served punk rock, but has become a label that serves metal and punk. It is a Christian label, and therefore many of its artists are as well. The label was created by Shawn Browning, also known as Wretched of Grave Robber. Many bands on the label have placed high on CMW's charts and have had many positive reviews. The label participates in several compilations, including ''Kill the Ill'' a benefit comp for Rottweiler's owner Shawn Browning, and ''Metal Pulse: A Tribute to Dale Huffman''. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Vocalists in the genre typically use thrash or scream vocals. Some later metalcore bands combine this with clean singing, often during the chorus. A Hill To Die Upon
A Hill To Die Upon is an American blackened death metal band from the Monmouth- Galesburg area of Illinois, formed in 2004 by the brothers Adam and R. Michael Cook. The brothers initially founded the band as hardcore project, but eventually started listening to death and black metal, which led them to transform their band's sound. Over the years, various musicians have filled out the band's lineup, which currently consists of the Cook brothers and Nolan Osmond. Signed to Bombworks Records, A Hill to Die Upon has released four albums – ''Infinite Titanic Immortal'' in 2009, ''Omens'' in 2011, ''Holy Despair'' in 2014, and ''Via Artis, Via Mortis'' in 2017 - all to a positive critical reception. Taking the Head of Goliath is a Christian death metal band that originated in 2015. Background Taking the Head of Goliath started in 2015 with members Jake Martin, Matt Vangsgard and Nathan Sherman. The band later added rhythm guitarist Rob Blake. The band became best known when they hired bassist/backing vocalist Luke Renno of the band Crimson Thorn. The band played their first show at one of For Today's final tour dates. The band has recently signed to Rottweiler Records. Symphony Of Heaven
Symphony of Heaven is a Christian blackened death metal band from Owensville, Indiana, United States. The band began in 2017 as a solo project, but morphed into a full band by 2019, consisting of Logan Thompson (guitars/vocals), David Napier (bass), Eero Tertsunen (guitars), and Mason Beard (drums). The band has released two studio albums, two EPs, and a split release. According to ''HM Magazine'', the band is "one of the best death metal acts to form in the past four years" as of 2021. My Place Was Taken is a deathcore and hardcore punk band that originated out of Matamoros, Mexico. The band originated in 2014 and signed to Rottweiler Records in 2017. History My Place Was Taken began in 2014, as a project between vocalist Jesus Salaz and guitarist Abraham Barberi. Shortly after the formation of the project, the two added on bassist Helix Nebula and drummer Daniel Castaneda. The four recorded and produced a self-titled five-track EP, which caused the band to gain popularity in the Mexico metal scene. After gaining the notoriety, the band signed with Rottweiler Records, who was home to bands such as Death Requisite, Taking the Head of Goliath, and The Autumn League. Light Unseen is an American death metal and grindcore band that originated in San Marcos, Texas, United States. The band was founded by local Texas death metal and grindcore veteran Christian "Shun" Marthiljohni of Diminished, Southern Front, and The Monk. Marthiljohni hired on his friend Adrian Trevino to take over drums. The band signed with Nosral Recordings in January 2018. Light Unseen has been compared to Tortured Conscience and Antidemon. Forfeit Thee Untrue, also known as FTU, is a South African Christian metal band who formed in 2006. Remaining a 2-piece band until late 2011, at which point, lead vocalist/guitarist Gideon joined the band. Brotality is an American thrash and groove metal band that originated out of Narrowsburg, New York. The band began in 2016 between brothers Bryce (guitars/vocals) and Reece Maopolski (bass/vocals). In 2018, the band was joined by Liam Fenton on drums and the band began to record and perform shows alongside the likes of Knocked Loose, Red, Deep Purple, and Judas Priest. The band cites Mastodon, Alice Cooper, Metallica, Silent Planet, August Burns Red, and many others as influences.
