"The Next Doctor" is the first of the 2008–2010 specials of the British science fiction television programme ''Doctor Who'' that was broadcast on 25 December 2008, as the fourth ''Doctor Who'' Christmas special of the revived series. During its original airing, the episode had an audience of 13.1 million viewers and was the second-most-watched programme of Christmas Day 2008. David Tennant stars as the Tenth Doctor with companions Jackson Lake (David Morrissey) and Rosita Farisi (Velile Tshabalala). The episode is set in 1851 London during Christmas. David Tennant
David John Tennant (''né'' McDonald; born 18 April 1971) is a Scottish actor. Julie Gardner
Julie Ann Gardner (born 4 June 1969) is a Welsh television producer. Her most prominent work has been serving as executive producer on the 2005 revival of '' Doctor Who'' and its spin-off shows ''Torchwood'' and ''The Sarah Jane Adventures''. She worked on ''Doctor Who'' from 2003 to 2009 before moving to Los Angeles to work at BBC Worldwide. In 2015, Gardner co-founded the production company Bad Wolf, best known for the BBC TV series ''His Dark Materials'', on which Gardner also serves as an executive producer. ''Doctor Who Confidential'' is a documentary series created by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to complement the revival of the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. Each episode was broadcast on BBC Three on Saturdays, immediately after the broadcast of the weekly television episode on BBC One. The first and second series episodes ran 30 minutes each; third series instalments ran 45 minutes. "Music of the Spheres" is an interactive mini-episode of the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'' that premiered at the Royal Albert Hall in London before the Intermission of the ''Doctor Who'' Prom on 27 July 2008, for which it was especially made. The ''Doctor Who'' Prom, including the audio for "Music of the Spheres", was broadcast simultaneously on BBC Radio 3. "Music of the Spheres" was shown on the official BBC ''Doctor Who'' website during the interval and the concert itself was filmed for later broadcast on BBC One on 1 January 2009.
