Ron Jones (television Director)
Ron Jones (6 August 1945 – 9 July 1995) was a British television director. Born in Bristol, he joined the BBC as a studio manager in local radio then became an assistant floor manager on television. After a period as a researcher and item director on ''Blue Peter'' he worked as a production manager on series such as '' Bergerac'' and '' Secret Army''. On completing the BBC's internal director's course, he was commissioned to direct for ''Doctor Who'' and contributed six stories in the 1980s: '' Black Orchid'', ''Time-Flight'', ''Arc of Infinity'', ''Frontios'', ''Vengeance on Varos'' and ''Mindwarp''. Television Director
A television director is in charge of the activities involved in making a television program or section of a program. They are generally responsible for decisions about the editorial content and creative style of a program, and ensuring the producer's vision is delivered. Their duties may include originating program ideas, finding contributors, writing scripts, planning 'shoots', ensuring safety, leading the crew on location, directing contributors and presenters, and working with an editor to assemble the final product. ''Juliet Bravo'' is a British television police procedural drama series, first broadcast on 30 August 1980, that ran for six series and a total of 88 episodes on BBC1. The theme of the series concerned a female police inspector who took over control of a police station in the fictional town of Hartley in Lancashire. ''Lindenstraße'' (literally "Linden Street") was a long-running German television drama series, broadcast by Das Erste. The first episode aired on 8 December 1985 and since then new episodes were broadcast weekly until 2020. Its last timeslot on Das Erste was Sundays at 18:50.
