Rommel Amatong
Rommel C. Amatong (born October 5, 1961) is a Filipino politician. A member of the LAKAS-CMD Party, he was elected as a Member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, representing the Second District of Compostela Valley beginning in 2007. He succeeded his father, Prospero Amatong Prospero Sybico Amatong (October 18, 1931 – May 16, 2009) was a Filipino politician. Amatong served as the Governor of Davao del Norte from 1992 until 1998 and as a Congressman in the House of Representatives of the Philippines from 1998 until ..., who represented the same district from 1998 until his retirement in 2007. Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (), abbreviated as Lakas–CMD and popularly known as Lakas, was a political party in the Philippines. Its ideology and that of its successor is heavily influenced by Christian and Islamic democracy. The legislative districts of Davao de Oro are the representations of the province of Davao de Oro in the various national legislatures of the Philippines. The province is currently represented in the lower house of the Congress of the Philippines through its first and second congressional districts.
