Rome Independent Film Festival (or RIFF) is an annual film festival held every November in Rome, Italy to represent and promote independent filmmakers globally. The festival was started in 2001, and its 25th event was held in 2018. In November 2019, the 26th festival event will be held. ''Self Medicated'' is a 2005 independent film based on real-life events from writer/director/lead actor Monty Lapica about Andrew, a troubled teenager whose mother has him kidnapped at age 17 by a private company and forcibly committed to a locked-down psychiatric institute. Nick Lyon
Nick Lyon (born April 25, 1970) is a Los Angeles-based film director and screenwriter. A native of Pocatello, Idaho, he spent 9 years in Germany where he attended the renowned Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany. In Germany, Lyon went on to direct Academy Award winner Maximilian Schell in ''I Love You, Baby'', a thriller produced by Warner Bros. ''The Class'' ( et, Klass) is a 2007 Estonian drama film directed by Ilmar Raag. Themed on school violence, it was released on March 16, 2007. A 7 episode series was later produced, telling what happens after the initial movie. Ilmar Raag (born 21 May 1968 in Kuressaare) is an Estonian media executive, actor, screenwriter and film director, best known for his socio-critical film '' The Class''. He has served as CEO of Estonian Television from 2002 to 2005. He is a well known columnist in many prestigious Estonian newspapers (''Postimees'', ''Eesti Päevaleht'').
