Roh (film)
''Roh'', or known as ''Soul'', is a 2019 Malaysian Malaysian Malay, Malay-language Independent film, independent folk horror film directed by Emir Ezwan in his List of directorial debuts, directorial debut. Set in the past, a family living in a forest is visited by a strange little girl, who comes with a frightening prediction. ''Roh'' was produced by Malaysian production house Kuman Pictures, and filmed on location in Dengkil. It was released theatrically on 6 August 2020 in Malaysia and Singapore, and internationally on Netflix in 2021. It was selected as the Malaysian entry for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film, Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. Ari Aster (born July 15, 1986) is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is known for writing and directing the horror films ''Hereditary'' (2018) and ''Midsommar'' (2019). Early life Aster was born into a Jewish family in New York City on July 15, 1986, the son of a musician father and a poet mother. He has a younger brother.
