Rod Spittle
Rod Spittle (born 18 July 1955) is a Canadian professional golfer. Spittle was born in St. Catharines, Ontario. He played college golf at Ohio State University where his teammates included John Cook and Joey Sindelar. He won the Canadian Amateur in 1977 and 1978. After graduating in 1978, with a degree in Business Administration, he did not turn professional in golf, instead choosing to sell insurance, which he did for 25 years. He moved to Ohio, and played amateur golf at a high standard during this period. Spittle turned professional in 2004, shortly before turning 50. He began playing on the Champions Tour in 2005. His best finish in his first four years was a T-2 at the 2007 Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn. He did not play the Champions Tour at all in 2009. The 2010 Champions Tour was the 31st season for the golf tour now known as PGA Tour Champions since it officially began in 1980 as the Senior PGA Tour. The season consisted of 26 official money events with purses totalling $51,475,000, including five majors. Bernhard Langer topped the end-of-season money list for an unprecedented third consecutive year, winning $2,648,939, and also won the most tournaments, five. Jeffrey George Sluman (born September 11, 1957) is an American professional golfer who has won numerous professional golf tournaments including six PGA Tour victories. Early years Sluman was born and reared in Rochester, New York. After graduating from Greece Arcadia High School in 1975 and Monroe Community College in 1977, he attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. He earned a bachelor's degree with a major in finance from FSU in 1980, and turned pro later that year. Professional career Sluman has had an unusual career in terms of winning golf tournaments. The San Antonio Championship was a golf tournament on the Champions Tour. It was played annually in October in San Antonio, Texas, and was the final full-field event of the Champions Tour season.
