''Rock 'n Roll Children'' is the second album by Finnish band Sturm und Drang. The album was released 12 November 2008 in Finland, and 16 January 2009 in other parts of Europe. ''Rock 'n Roll Children'' went straight to number two on the Finnish sales chart, and it was certified gold (15.000 records) within one week in Finland. The album was produced by Jimmy Westerlund, and co-produced by André Linman, Patrick Linman, Mats Persson, Erik Mårtensson and Johan Becker. Jani Liimatainen (Ex-Sonata Arctica, Cain's Offering) wrote the song "River Runs Dry". The first single from the album, "Break Away", was released 22 September 2008. Dio (band)
Dio was an American heavy metal band formed in 1982 and led by vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Dio left Black Sabbath with intentions to form a new band with fellow former Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice. The name Dio was chosen because it made sense from a commercial standpoint, as the name was already well known at that time. The band released 10 studio albums and had numerous lineup changes over the years, with Dio himself being the only constant member. Guitarists included Vivian Campbell, Craig Goldy, Doug Aldrich, Warren DeMartini, Tracy G, Jake E. Lee and Rowan Robertson. The band dissolved in 2010 when Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer at the age of 67. Dio has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. ''Sacred Heart'' is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Dio. It was released on August 13, 1985 on Warner Bros. Records in North America, and Vertigo elsewhere. The record peaked at No. 29 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. It includes the singles " Rock 'n' Roll Children" and " Hungry for Heaven". This was the last Dio album to include guitarist Vivian Campbell, who was fired midway through the album's tour. Campbell went on to join several other bands, most notably Def Leppard, Riverdogs, Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy. A rift occurred during the recording of this album between Dio and the guitarist, Dio stating in an interview "...for me, he (Viv) wasn't even there for this record." Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Ronnie James Dio
Ronald James Padavona (July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010), known professionally as Ronnie James Dio, was an American heavy metal singer. He fronted and founded numerous bands throughout his career, including Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven & Hell. Though his parents were from Cortland, New York, Dio was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where his family resided for his father's service in the U.S. Army during World War II. The family returned to Cortland when Dio was very young, and he lived there until graduating high school in 1960. Dio's music career began in 1957 as part of the Vegas Kings (later Ronnie and the Rumblers). In 1967, he formed the rock band Elf, which became a regular opening act for Deep Purple. In 1975, Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore founded the band Rainbow and hired Dio to be his lead singer; during his tenure, the band released three studio albums. "Hungry for Heaven" is the seventh single released by heavy metal band Dio. It was the second single from their 1985 LP ''Sacred Heart'', although it was originally written for the movie ''Vision Quest'', appearing both in the film and on the associated soundtrack album. Many different versions of the single exist; the original UK release had the B-side songs " King of Rock and Roll" and a live version of "Like the Beat of a Heart". An international version, however, had live versions of the songs "Holy Diver" and "Rainbow in the Dark" on the B-side, with a different sleeve design. The Australian release featured "The Last in Line" on the B-side, but this may have been a promotional release. The single peaked at #30 on the ''Billboard'' Top Album Tracks chart.
