Robin Stevens
Robin Gordon Stevens (born 30 January 1960) is an English puppeteer, actor, director and writer for children's TV for nearly 30 years, and has done many successful programmes. These include ''Pob's Programme'', '' Corners'', ''Teletubbies'', ''Rosie and Jim'', ''Tots TV'', ''Boohbah'' and ''Blips''. Early life Stevens was born in the UK in Chorleywood. He trained at the Cannon Hill Puppet Theater for four years with John Blundall the world-famous puppet master. Career Stevens worked for Ragdoll Productions for about 20 years, at times co-writing scripts and originating content with Alan Dapre. He also worked for the BBC, puppeteering ''Jo Corner'' on '' Corners''. Chorleywood
Chorleywood is both a village and a civil parish in the Three Rivers District, Hertfordshire, on the border with Buckinghamshire, approximately northwest of Charing Cross. The village is adjacent to the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is part of the London commuter belt included in the government-defined Greater London Urban Area. Chorleywood was historically part of the parish of Rickmansworth, becoming a separate ecclesiastical parish in 1845 and a separate civil parish in 1898. The population of the parish was 11,286 at the 2011 census. In 2004 a study by The Social Disadvantage Research Centre at the University of Oxford named Chorleywood as the “happiest place” to live in the UK. Boohbah
''Boohbah'' is a British preschool television series created by Anne Wood and produced by Wood's company, Ragdoll Productions, in association with GMTV. It originally premiered on ITV on 14 April 2003. The series was later broadcast on Nick Jr.UK beginning on 2 April 2005. The series, with 104 episodes, was designed for preschoolers aged three to six (a slightly older age group than Wood's previous show, ''Teletubbies''). According to Anne Wood, the show's visuals were inspired by scientific photographs of microscopic life and cell structures. The main characters, the Boohbahs, are "atoms of energy" who sleep in charging pods. Every episode follows the Boohbahs performing a dance routine where the audience is encouraged to participate. Blips (TV Series)
''Blips'' is a British comedy children's television series from Ragdoll Productions, which first aired on CITV (on the ITV Network) on 29 September 2005. It starred Robin Stevens as Mr. Perfect and Patricia Routledge as the narrator. The 26 episodes were written by Alan Dapre & Robin Stevens. Since 2009, the show has been difficult to find, due to it not getting a home media release of any kind, and has been regarded as lost. The show features the 3D animated 'Blips' (a group of purple blobs that wreak havoc in each episode) characters alongside the main protagonist Mr Perfect. Plot In every episode, Mr. Perfect would aim to show the viewers how to perform a job or task perfectly. These are ranged from serving ice cream or using exercising equipment. ''Tots TV'' is a British children's television programme, produced by Ragdoll Productions and Central. The series was first telecast in the UK on the ITV network (part of CITV) from 1993 to 1998. Development ''Tots TV'' was written by two of its puppeteers, Robin Stevens (Tom) and Andrew Davenport (Tiny). Characters The programme focuses on three puppets: Tilly, a French girl, with red hair, freckles and pale skin, who speaks in basic French (changed to English in French and Spanish broadcasts, and changed to Spanish in the US version), Tom, a blue-haired boy with glasses and dark skin, who is smart, and Tiny, the youngest Tot, who is smaller than the others and has green hair and pale skin.
