Robert Gilchrist (born 14 October 1990) is a professional basketball player currently playing for Elan Coton of the Road to BAL. Gilchrist was born in London, England and played his college career in the United States. High school / college career After graduating from Worcester Academy in the U.S. state of Massachusetts, Gilchrist played two years for Polk State College in Winter Haven, Florida, where he earned an associate degree in business administration. Gilchrist then played for two years for Florida State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in social science. Gilchrist started 24 games at the small forward and power forward positions. Florida State participated in the NIT tournament in both of Gilchrist's seasons. British Basketball League
The British Basketball League (BBL) is a men's professional basketball league in Great Britain and represents the highest level of play in the countries. The league is contested by 10 teams from England and Scotland. There are no clubs however from Wales or Northern Ireland. The BBL runs three additional knockout competitions alongside the BBL Championship which are the BBL Cup, the BBL Trophy and the end-of-season BBL Play-offs. The BBL sits above the National Basketball League and the Scottish Basketball Championship which effectively form the second tier of British basketball. Surrey Scorchers
The Surrey Scorchers are an English professional basketball team based in Guildford, Surrey, that compete in the British Basketball League. The team was established in 2005 as the Guildford Heat by fans of former British Basketball League team Thames Valley Tigers, who folded during the same year. Making an appearance in the ULEB Cup in 2007, the franchise was rebranded as the Surrey Heat in 2012. The British Basketball League Cup, often shortened to the BBL Cup, is an annual cup competition for British basketball teams organised by the United Kingdom's top professional league, the British Basketball League. The Liga Española de Baloncesto, also known as LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The Liga Española de Baloncesto is divided into two categories (the other one is the LEB Plata). The LEB league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. It was renamed LEB Oro in 2007.
