Mestis
Mestis (from fi, Mestaruussarja, meaning 'Championship series') is the second-highest men's ice hockey league in Finland. The league was established by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association in 2000 to replace the I-divisioona ('First Division'). It had initially been the highest hockey league in Finland that could be reached through playing merits alone; the SM-liiga was closed (to teams being relegated or promoted) in 2000. After the 2004–05 season, KalPa was promoted to the SM-liiga, and the Liiga was re-opened in the 2008–09 season. Vaasan Sport was promoted in 2014–15, KooKoo was promoted in 2015–16, and Jukurit was promoted in 2016–17. Mestis, however, is an open league, with promotion and relegation between it and Suomi-sarja. However there will be no relegation during the 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lappi Areena
Lappi Areena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Rovaniemi, Finland which hold concerts, trade fairs and sporting events particularly ice hockey. The arena was built in 2003 and has a capacity of 4780 people for concerts and 3500 for ice hockey matches. Lappi Areena mainly serves ice sports such as ice hockey and figure skating but also can host volleyball. Josh Tetlow
Joshua Tetlow (born 12 January 1998) is an English ice hockey player for Nottingham Panthers and the British national team. After coming through the Bracknell youth setup, he made his Bees IHC debut in the 2014/15 season. He signed for EIHL team Nottingham Panthers on a two-way deal with the Bees in the 2017/18 season. During his time in Nottingham, Tetlow would win the 2021 Elite Series. On 13 May 2022, the Panthers announced that Tetlow would be leaving them to play in Europe for the 2022/23 season. It was subsequently announced that he had signed a one-year contract with Finnish second tier side Rovaniemen Kiekko (RoKi). Tetlow returned to Nottingham for the 2023/24 season.
