Ringwood East Railway Station
Ringwood East railway station is a commuter railway station on the Lilydale line, serving the eastern Melbourne suburb of Ringwood East, Victoria, Australia. Ringwood East is an unstaffed status, ground structure station featuring one island platform with two faces. The station opened on 18 May 1925, with the current single story station structure provided in 1975. On 30 June 1984, the current island platform was provided, as part of the duplication of the line between Ringwood and Croydon. In that same year, boom barriers were provided at the Dublin Road level crossing, located nearby in the up direction of the station. On 29 July 2021, the Level Crossing Removal Project announced that the level crossing will be grade separated by 2025, with a rail trench to be built underneath the road. Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is the brand name for public transport in the Australian state of Victoria, Australia, Victoria. It was the trading name of the Go Public Transport Development Authority (PTDA), a now-defunct statutory authority in Victoria, responsible for providing, coordinating, and promoting public transport. The Lilydale railway line is a commuter railway line operating between Flinders Street in the Melbourne central business district and Lilydale through Melbourne's eastern suburbs including Richmond, Cremorne, Burnley, Hawthorn, Hawthorn East, Camberwell, Canterbury, Surrey Hills, Mont Albert, Box Hill, Blackburn, Nunawading, Mitcham, Ringwood, Ringwood East, Croydon, Mooroolbark, and Lilydale. Level Crossing Removal Project
The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) is a program of the Government of Victoria, Australia, to remove 110 level crossings and rebuild 51 railway stations in Melbourne. After pledging the removal of 50 level crossings at the 2014 Victorian state election, the Andrews government committed $2.4 billion in the 2015–2016 budget to remove the first 20 crossings by 2018. The next 30 crossings were funded through the privatisation of the Port of Melbourne. Prior to the 2018 state election, the government committed to remove a further 25 level crossings, using a new prioritisation framework. In 2021, the government announced a further ten level crossing removals and four level crossing closures would occur by 2025, bringing the total planned level crossing removals to 85 by 2025. Boom Barrier
A boom barrier, also known as a boom gate, is a bar, or pole pivoted to allow the boom to block vehicular or pedestrian access through a controlled point. Typically the tip of a boom gate rises in a vertical arc to a near vertical position. Boom gates are often counterweighted, so the pole is easily tipped. Boom gates are often paired either end to end, or offset appropriately to block traffic in both directions. Croydon Railway Station, Melbourne
Croydon railway station is located on the Lilydale line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the eastern Melbourne suburb of Croydon, and it opened on 1 December 1882 as Warrandyte. It was renamed Croydon on 1 August 1884. The line between Croydon and Mooroolbark was duplicated in 1957, with a number of sidings provided at the same time. In 1978, the goods yard was closed, and in the same year, a number of sidings were abolished. The present Coolstore Road level crossing, located in the Down direction of the station, was provided in 1979, replacing a previous level crossing. Platform 1 opened on 30 June 1984, as part of the duplication of the line between Croydon and Ringwood. The remaining sidings were also abolished during this time.
