Rich Froning Jr.
Rich Froning Jr. (born July 21, 1987) is an American professional CrossFit athlete known for his achievements participating in the CrossFit Games. He became the first person to win the title of "Fittest Man on Earth" four times with his first-place finish in the 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 CrossFit Games. In 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022 he led a team from CrossFit Mayhem to the first-place finish in the Team category in the CrossFit Games. In addition to making a living off of CrossFit, Froning has won over $1,050,000 in prize money from winning the CrossFit Games four times. Additionally, he has accumulated significant sponsorships from brands like Reebok, Oakley, and Rogue Fitness. In early 2015, Reebok released a shoe designed, in part, by Froning. Wodapalooza
Wodapalooza Fitness Festival (WZA) is an annual four-day functional fitness festival held in Miami centered on a CrossFit competition. The event was first established in 2012 and has since developed into one of the largest fitness festival in the world and a major CrossFit competition with thousands of athletes from around the world competing. History Wodapalooza was founded in 2012 by Guido Trinidad and Steve Suarez. They were originally invited to run free CrossFit classes at Bayfront Park in the summer of 2011, but were offered the possibility of turning it into a competition event by the park manager. 2018 CrossFit Games
The 2018 CrossFit Games was the 12th CrossFit Games and held on August 1–5, 2018, at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. The men's competition was won by Mathew Fraser, the women's by Tia-Clair Toomey, and CrossFit Mayhem Freedom won the Affiliate Cup. A record number of entries was reported for this year's Open, with over 415,000 athletes registering to compete. The Regionals were adjusted this year to reflect the growth of the sport worldwide. Both Fraser and Toomey dominated the Games, with Fraser extending his record margin of victory to 220 over the runner-up Patrick Vellner. Dignity Health Sports Park is a multi-use sports complex located on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills in Carson, California. The complex consists of the 27,000-seat Dignity Health Sports Park soccer stadium, the Dignity Health Sports Park tennis stadium, a track-and-field facility, and the VELO Sports Center velodrome. 2010 CrossFit Games
The 2010 CrossFit Games were the fourth CrossFit Games, held on July 16–18, 2010. This year's Games were the first to be staged at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California after three years at the ranch in Aromas. The men's competition was won by Graham Holmberg, the women's by Kristan Clever, and the Team by CrossFit Fort Vancouver. This year the qualification was expanded to a two-stage process with the introduction of Sectionals, a precursor to the online CrossFit Open introduced the following year. Individual athletes had to compete in local Sectionals to qualify for the Regionals. This was also the first time that regional qualifiers were required for all games participants including individuals, affiliate teams, and masters. Cookeville High School is a public secondary education facility located in Cookeville, Tennessee. It is part of the Putnam County School System. History According to Putnam County historian Mary Jean DeLozier, the first ‘high school’ established in Cookeville, Tennessee, was a privately funded, four-year subscription high school called Washington Academy. It was established in 1891, on Spring St. where the Cookeville City Hall is today. In 1894, the state transferred Washington Academy into a newly incorporated high school named Cookeville High School. One principal and five teachers constituted the entire twelve-grade faculty with 175 students. CrossFit Mayhem
CrossFit Mayhem is a CrossFit affiliate located in Cookeville, Tennessee. Mayhem was started in 2009 by Rich Froning Jr., Rich Froning Jr in his father's barn as a place to train. In 2012, Rich opened the original downtown facility, but almost immediately began plans to expand. That relocation/expansion occurred in 2016. Due in large part to Froning's success at the CrossFit Games, Crossfit Mayhem has become something of a pilgrimage site for many Crossfit Athletes and fans.
