Riccardo Truccolo
Riccardo Truccolo (born 8 August 1989 in Pordenone, Italy) is an Italian professional basketball player, currently a member of Pallalcesto Amatori Udine, Snaidero Udine of the Italian league (LegADue/Serie A2). Truccolo began his career in the youth sector of Pallacanestro Pordenone, then moved to Nuovo Basket 2000 Pordenone (now part of SBP - Sistema Basket Pordenone). In summer 2005 he was selected by Serie A team Snaidero Udine to be part of the team's youth sector. During his first season in Udine, he was also called upon by coach Cesare Pancotto to take part in several Serie A1 matches as a reserve, though never actually stepping onto the court. In August 2006 he joined Nuova Pallacanestro Pavia (known as Edimes Pavia for sponsorship reasons) of the Italian LegADue (Serie A2) league. Pordenone (; Venetian and fur, Pordenon) is the main ''comune'' of Pordenone province of northeast Italy in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Pallalcesto Amatori Udine, better known by the sponsorship name Snaidero Udine, was an Italian professional basketball club based in Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia. In 2011, following the dissolution of the club, a new team, APU Udine, was founded. History Associazione Pallacanestro Udinese (APU) was founded in 1944. It wasn't a particularly notable organisation until businessman Rino Snaidero (head of the Snaidero Cucine kitchen furniture company) became the owner in 1965. With his backing the club, now known as Snaidero Udine, reached the first division Serie A in 1968. A new arena, named Palasport Primo Carnera after the boxer of that name, was built in 1970. Serie A2, known for sponsorship reasons as Serie A2 Old Wild West, is a men's basketball league in Italy. It constitutes the second-tier of the Italian league pyramid, below the first division LBA and above the third division Serie B, with promotion/relegation occurring between these leagues. It is run by the Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro (LNP), itself regulated by the FIP, the Italian federation. Cesare Pancotto (born January 8, 1955) is an Italian professional basketball coach who is an assistant coach for Napoli Basket of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). Coaching career After a good career spent playing point guard in his native Porto San Giorgio, Pancotto began coaching in 1982 at the age of 27, taking the bench of his hometown team, U.S. Sangiorgese, at only three matches from the end of the season, gaining promotion to Serie B. In 1984 Sangiorgese, always guided by Pancotto, was promoted to A2, the Italian Second Division. The coach remained in Porto San Giorgio until 1986, coaching two seasons in A2 avoiding in both cases the relegation. In the 1986-1987 season he arrived in Reggio Emilia. Pallacanestro Pavia was an Italian professional basketball club based in Pavia, Lombardy. For past club sponsorship names, see the list below. History The club was established in 1943 as Onda Pavia by industrialist Luigi Cazzani. In 1955–56, Pavia finished at third place in the Serie A, the national championship.
