Ribomapil Holganza Sr.
Ribomapil Estrelloso Holganza, Sr. (April 26, 1935 – January 25, 2015), widely known as Dodong Holganza, was a Filipino activist and politician who served as a leader of the opposition against the 10th President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos on his native province of Cebu. As a founding member of the political party PDP–Laban, Holganza was involved with several opposition groups in the Visayas and Mindanao that helped gather support for the overthrow of President Marcos during the EDSA People Power Revolution in 1986. Dumanjug, officially the Municipality of Dumanjug ( ceb, Lungsod sa Dumanjug; tgl, Bayan ng Dumanjug), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. Antonio "Tony" Veloso Cuenco (March 26, 1936 – June 27, 2020) was a Filipino politician who served as a council member for the 2nd District of the Cebu City Council. Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., a former Philippine senator, was assassinated on Sunday, August 21, 1983, on the tarmac of Manila International Airport (now named Ninoy Aquino International Airport in his honor). A longtime political opponent of President Ferdinand Marcos, Aquino had just landed in his home country after three years of self-imposed exile in the United States when he was shot in the head while being escorted from an aircraft to a vehicle that was waiting to transport him to prison.
