Rheinland-Pfalz State Police
The Rhineland-Palatinate State Police is the state police (''Landespolizei'') of the German federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate and numbers ca. 9,000 police officers. The five regional police authorities are headquartered in Koblenz, Trier, Mainz, Kaiserslautern and Ludwigshafen. Just like Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate abolished the “green star” ranks; meaning Rhineland-Palatinate's police officers will their service as Probationary Inspectors (''Polizeikommissaranwärter''). This reform aims at making the police profession more attractive and improving promotion chances. Rhineland-Palatinate is also one of the federal states that does not train its cadets through the Bereitschaftspolizei anymore but has its own faculty at the State College of Public Administration and a professional development school, both directly responsible to the police department in the Interior Ministry. The faculty and the school were combined at a new joint facility in 1996 located at the refurbished ...

State Police
State police, provincial police or regional police are a type of sub-national territorial police force found in nations organized as federations, typically in North America, South Asia, and Oceania. These forces typically have jurisdiction over the relevant sub-national jurisdiction, and may cooperate in law enforcement activities with municipal or national police where either exist. Argentina In Argentina, as a federal country, each province has its own independent police force and its responsible of its funding, training and equipment. State police agencies are responsible of all the territory of a determinate state. There is almost no municipal/local law enforcement in Argentina, and if there is, they are generally limited to traffic duties. Australia Prior to the Federation of Australia, each Colony within Australia had numerous police forces, but these were largely amalgamated well before Federation. Today each state of Australia, as well as the Northern Territory, h ...

In Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, two police officers were fatally shot at a traffic stop on 31 January 2022. The Public prosecutor's office believes that the two arrested suspects were attempting to cover up their poaching. Spezialeinsatzkommando
''Spezialeinsatzkommando'' (SEK, "Special Task Force") are police tactical units of each of the 16 German State Police forces. Along with the ''Mobile Einsatzkommando'' (MEK), ''Personenschutzkommando'' (bodyguards), and the ''Verhandlungsgruppe'' (negotiation teams in some states), they are part of the police ''Spezialeinheiten'' of each state. Mainly unrecognized by the media and public, the main missions of SEK units are to serve high-risk arrest warrants and to deal with barricaded suspects. Hostage sieges, kidnappings, and raids also belong to their missions as well as other scenarios like personal security details for VIPs or witnesses. Since the 1970s, each SEK has handled several thousand deployments. The front-runner is the SEK of the Berlin Police with up to 500 deployments a year, an average of 1.4 deployments a day. Landespolizei
''Landespolizei'' (; ) is a term used to refer to the state police of any of the states of Germany. History The ''Landespolizei'' of today can trace its origins to the late 19th century, when Germany united into a single country in 1871, under Otto von Bismarck. Various towns and cities also maintained police forces, as the increasing number of new laws and regulations made controlling urban life more complicated. In Nazi Germany, all state and city forces were absorbed into the ''Ordnungspolizei'', which existed from 1936 to 1945. After World War II, massive numbers of refugees and displaced persons, hunger and poverty characterised everyday life in Germany. Attacks by armed gangs, robbery, looting and black-marketing were commonplace, and the military police could not cope with this troubling security situation. Thus each of the Western Allies quickly permitted the formation of civilian police forces, including small numbers of heavily armed and military like organ ...
